British Airways i360

British Airways i360.

British Airways is delighted to be the Official Naming Rights Partner of the world’s tallest moving observation tower.

Enjoying the high life: our partnership with the i360 in Brighton

Ambassadors welcome to British Airways i360

Throughout our 96-year history, British Airways has been at the forefront of innovation in aviation. Our pioneering spirit has led to numerous industry and world firsts: the first commercial scheduled services, the first commercial jet and supersonic service, the first fully flat on-board beds and the first commercial airline to operate both the Airbus A380 and Boeing 787 Dreamliner. Our announcement as naming rights partner of British Airways i360, the world’s tallest moving tower, marks the next chapter in our story.

British Airways i360 opened in Summer 2016 next to Brighton’s historic West Pier. The ground-breaking attraction is 162 metres tall, with the fully enclosed glass pod soaring to 138 metres (450 feet). Up to 200 visitors at a time enjoy unfolding 360-degree views of the UK’s most popular seaside town, wild expanses of the South Downs National Park, UNESCO World Biosphere, dramatic chalk cliffs and the English Channel. On the clearest days visitors can see to Beachy Head and all the way to the Isle of Wight, over 49 miles away.

Brighton is less than an hour from London or half an hour from Gatwick airport and is renowned for its independent shops, traditional English pier, the opulent Royal Pavilion palace, fine restaurants and an exciting calendar of events including the Brighton Festival (the largest arts festival in England) and the UK’s biggest Pride carnival.

Elevating experiences: the observation pod

The pod itself is 4.7 metres high and 18 metres wide, with an elegant futuristic design that does not fail to make its mark on Brighton’s iconic seafront. It is heated and air conditioned, fully accessible for wheelchair users, and has bench seating for passengers. Onboard the pod, guests can enjoy a drink at the Nyetimber Sky Bar, one of the most unique bars in the UK, serving a range of drinks from Sussex. The visitor centre incorporates the Belle Vue restaurant serving locally sourced food, the West Pier Tea Room housed in a heritage tollbooth, event function rooms and a shop selling a range of gifts and souvenirs, many created by local artists.

The ground-breaking attraction is 162 metres tall, Visitors can book ‘flights’, receive ‘boarding passes’ and ‘check in’ with British Airways i360 uniformed staff, who provide the same renowned high level of services provided on our flights. Customers travelling on one of British Airways’ 40,000 yearly flights into London Gatwick will enjoy fantastic birds-eye views of British Airways i360. Likewise, those taking a ‘flight’ in the attraction’s observation pod can spot our aircraft flying into Gatwick, including those travelling to and from our new destinations Oakland, Fort Lauderdale and Cape Town.
