Thanks to its year-round mild climate, LA makes for a popular destination with millions of visitors at all times. However, the months of June, July and August are particularly busy times for LA tourism, so fares can be higher during that period. To find our cheapest flights to Los Angeles, use our lowest fare finder.
You can touch down in just over 11 hours. British Airways operates up to five direct flights to LA a day: fly from London Heathrow to Los Angeles International (LAX).
Los Angeles International Airport is situated in the west of the LA area and the best way to get anywhere in this city is by car. This really is a city built around the car and most places you visit will have ample parking spaces, including restaurants and shops, which often have valet parking.
Taxis are readily available outside the terminals at LAX and the cost to Hollywood is around $50 (don’t forget there is a $4 airport surcharge on taxis). A no-reservation-required bus, the LAX FlyAway, runs from the airport to various destinations including Hollywood, Union Station in Downtown and Long Beach. A one-way ticket is just under $10.
To make your trip even easier, why not pre-book your shuttle or private transfer with us before you travel? Simply add it to you booking when prompted.

If you’re travelling on a British passport, there’s no need to get a visa in advance – but you do need to apply for an ESTA at least 72 hours before you travel. There is a $14 fee for registration and, once approved, your ESTA is valid for multiple journeys for two years or until your passport expires.
