Mr and Mrs Smith reviews
Every hotel featured is visited personally by members of our team, given the Smith seal of approval, and then anonymously reviewed. As soon as our reviewers have returned from this bay-view beauty and unpacked their olive oil and designer Greek finds from the in-house boutique, a full account of their easygoing Grecian getaway will be with you. In the meantime, to whet your wanderlust, here's a postcard from Rocabella Mykonos…
Upon opening the doors to Rocabella Mykonos it is immediately clear that the small amount of huffing and puffing up the steps to reach it was well worth the effort. The cooling sea breeze and a bright white interior have an instantly soothing effect on travel-frazzled nerves, and the design-conscious ocean-inspired decor paired with a refreshing Watermelon Margarita soon had us wondering how a driftwood chandelier would hold up in checked.
The suites are refreshingly laid-back, with whitewashed floors and walls, pale blue and grey blankets and cushions, handcrafted oak and driftwood furnishings, and stacked stone side table lamps. It’s difficult to say whether the plunge pool made of traditional whitewashed island stone or the panoramic view over Mykonos bay is the best thing about the private terrace. Be dears and mull that over for us on your holiday, won’t you?

Served poolside from 8am to 11am, the buffet breakfast changes daily and often includes freshly Spanakopita and other Greek pies or pancakes, fresh fruit and juices, and other morning fare. The hotel restaurant Reeza serves up contemporary Greek cuisine featuring locally sourced ingredients, organic produce, and freshly caught fish. Order a bottle of Cycladic wine and enjoy leisurely dinners in this open air restaurant. During the winter months, the hotel restaurant is open only for breakfast, which is a more reigned-in Continental affair.
Sit as close to the edge of the terrace as possible for uninterrupted views of the Mykonos bay sunset.
The restaurant closes at 11pm, but the poolside bar is open until midnight.
The menu includes Greek salad, light bites including pitta bread with spreads, cold cuts and cheeses, fruit salad, a classic beef burger, pasta and more. Order anytime and enjoy a meal on the privacy of your terrace.
The poolside bar is separated from the restaurant by flowing white curtains and has a cocktail menu created by the hotel’s award-winning bartender. Try a refreshing Watermelon Margarita or cucumber-and-apple-infused Green Mojito while lounging poolside, or pre-dinner Bubble Trouble with pineapple and prosecco. The bar menu has light bites, lamb burgers, fresh fish, fruit platters and desserts. There’s also a small bar in the lobby where you can stop by throughout the day for a gin fizz or Aperol spritz.
