Overview

OBLU XPERIENCE Ailafushi affords a carefree and fun tropical island getaway. This lively island is packed with invigorating activities, playful design and effortless dining that's perfect for families, friends and couples. There’s always something going on from live music by the pool and water sports on the beach to organised group activities and late-night dancing. When you’re looking for a slower pace there’s plenty of beach to go around and a spa to relax in when needed. Little ones can have fun at the kids’ club with its own pool and food corner.

OBLU XPERIENCE Ailafushi is located on a private island in the Male Atoll of the Maldives. Male and its international airport are approximately 15 minutes away by speedboat.

Each room has a homely and cheerful feel, with white walls, wooden textures and splashes of vibrant colour. The Family rooms consist of a two bedroom and two-bathroom unit, the second room having bunk beds, excellent for those travelling with children. For added luxury, the Beach Villas, located on the beach, offer seclusion with their own outdoor veranda and outdoor shower. Choose a Water Villa for the ultimate Maldivian getaway; these units are on stilts over the lagoon and are accessed by a wooden jetty.

Other facilities

There’s plenty to entertain here including football, beach volleyball and daily organised group activities. On the water you’ll have 15 minutes a day complimentary non-motorised water sports and you can take up scuba diving at the PADI dive school (chargeable). Plus, there's a live DJ round the pool providing entertainment. If you’re looking for a pampering, the sustainable spa offers a range of Maldivian and international treatments. In the evenings there’s live music, DJ sets and a dance floor to while the night away.

Children will love the kids’ club set on a multi-level complex with a pool and buffet area. There are fun and educational activities to keep them entertained.

Dining information

Element X offers a no-frills buffet dining experience. The contemporary space is relaxing, and self-service counters make dining easy, with or without little ones. There are show cooking stations with five themes: western, eastern, central, cold starters and bakery. Plus, there a self-service drink dispensers with house wine, beer, juice, coffee and tea. Located by the pool, X360 Bar provides entertainment and refreshment all day long. Play an indoor game with a drink in hand by day or sway the night away on the dance floor.

The Copper Pot Food Truck serves delightful surf and turf under the stars while Only BLU – an underwater restaurant – offers a magical dining experience (both these restaurants are chargeable, and a reservation is required). In the centre of the island, La Promenade is a mini mall with a wine and liquor shop, coffee and pastry shop and the Essence OShop where you can pick up souvenirs, beach essentials and local snacks.
