Hovering over the beach, the long main pool features an infinity edge overlooking the ocean. A wooden deck curves alongside it where you’ll find cloud-comfy loungers, partially submerged day beds and easy access to the beach. Hop over to the beach to find both sandy and rocky areas, and a floating pontoon creating a unique ocean fed swimming pool.

At the spa, individual treatment pavilions hover over a small lake which neighbours a tranquil infinity pool – which is flanked by floating cabanas. There’s a focus on traditional healing using local ingredients, such as coconuts, herbs and fresh flowers. Try a tamarind and turmeric facial for improved circulation and cell growth or go for the Songkran treatment – inspired by the Thai water festival. It starts with a coconut scrub, followed by alternating cold and warm showers, finished by a massage using raw petals, aloe and fruit to exfoliate and hydrate.

Zen-lovers and activity seekers alike will find something to entertain here. Embark on yacht trips around neighbouring bays, spot colourful marine life with a snorkel, or float out on a paddle board or kayak. You can take part in a serene yoga session or get the blood pumping with a Muay Thai class. There’s also mini-golf, tennis, volleyball and a gym equipped with elliptical machines, bikes, treadmills and free weights.

Little ones will love it here, too, with both indoor and outdoor playgrounds – complete with slides, swings and a ball pit. Ritz Kids Club nurtures children with outdoorsy play, treasure hunts, crafts and games – so parents can truly relax with kids in tow. There’s also an Xbox room for teens, children’s menus in the restaurants and a family game day twice a week.

Expect sunset dinners, slow sea view lunches and fine-dining feasts – incorporating a bounty of local ingredients, such as freshly caught seafood, just-picked tropical produce and fragrant local spices.

Clad in teak and overlooking palms, Shook! is the main venue for breakfast. Start your day in this breezy, open restaurant, with a warm pastry, healthy pot or traditional Thai breakfast. For lunch, choose between casual comfort food at Sea Salt, or fuel up with light bites and tiki-inspired cocktails at Tides – both sit near the pool, so you hardly need to lift a finger.

For dinner, steaks, seafood and decadent desserts don the menu at The Ranch, or you can sink your teeth into spicy curries and slow-cooked Indian delicacies at One Rai. Feast your senses on traditional Southern Thai cuisine at Pak Tai, full of creamy, bold and sweet creations with ingredients sourced from local markets daily. Tables here sit in individual pavilions overlooking a man-made reef pool – it’s a remarkable experience. Feel sand in your toes at Sea Breeze Grill, which serves fresh seafood caught daily, hot off the charcoal grill. From here, marvel at the fire shows which take place on select days.

Craving an authentic Thai experience? On Saturdays, Baan Talat offers a unique, Thai market-style setting with street food carts set up around outdoor tables. Get comfy and enjoy the traditional Thai dance performances. Alternatively, fine dining and sweeping vistas await at The View. This romantic rendezvous sits on a cliffside with sweeping vistas over treetops towards the beach, and over the sea all the way to the horizon. Take a seat amongst flickering lanterns and let the smartly dressed attendants spoil you.
