Transforming yourAirport experience

Summer '17

Self-Service Bag Drop

You may be familiar with our check-in kiosks, but now you can also check in your bags before you head through security at London Heathrow or Gatwick. Once you have your boarding pass, it’s easy to weigh and tag your bags before sending them through the baggage system to your flight.

Our team will be on hand to help you if you’ve never used the machines before, or if you have any questions.

Making it easier to board

We’ll be introducing a system on all our flights this winter to simplify boarding, reduce congestion at the gate and make things easier for you.

You will notice a group number on your boarding pass, giving you the boarding priority you’re entitled to. All you have to do is board the aircraft when your group is called to do so.

Self-boarding gates

We have introduced automated self-boarding gates at nine of our domestic departure gates at our hub, London Heathrow Terminal 5A. All you do is scan your boarding pass and go through the gates to board your flight.

Our staff will be on hand to help you if you’ve never used a self-boarding gate or if you have any questions. They will also be available to help families and those who need special assistance.

We plan to introduce more self-boarding gates at Terminal 5 in the future, including international departures.

Flight Connections at London Heathrow

We’ve transformed our Flight Connections centre at London Heathrow, to make it quicker and easier for you to get to your connecting flight. With little to no queuing, you can be sure to make your next flight as smoothly as possible.

Look out for the Fast Track lane if you’re one of our Executive Club Gold or Silver Members, or you’re travelling in our First, Club World or Club Europe cabins.

The easy way to connect to your next flight

If you have your boarding pass for your next international flight, please go straight through the self-service gates. All you do is place your boarding pass on the reader and go through the gates.

If you need to collect your boarding pass, please visit a self-service kiosk before heading to the self-service gates.

EU and UK nationals, connecting from an international to a domestic flight, can use the new Passport Control e-gates so you'll be on your way more quickly.

If you're a non-EU national, you will need to visit a Passport Control desk to see a border force agent.

Our staff will still be on hand to provide help if you need it.
