It takes one hour and 55 minutes to fly from London to Salzburg.
You can fly to Salzburg (SZG) from both London Gatwick (LGW) and London Heathrow (LHR). Our Gatwick flights depart every day. Our Heathrow flights depart on Mondays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. Choose to fly with hand baggage only or pick a price that includes a 23kg checked baggage allowance and free seat selection 48 hours before you fly. You can also buy delicious food from British food favourite M&S, on board all flights from/to London Heathrow and London Gatwick. For your convenience we will only accept payment by credit/debit cards on board, and Executive Club Members can pay with Avios via the British Airways app.
It couldn’t be easier to navigate to the city centre once you land. Salzburg Airport is small and manageable, and it’s just a ten minute-drive from here to Salzburg city centre, or a direct 25-minute train ride. You can book car hire, in partnership with British Airways, and pick up your wheels from the airport: useful if you want to drive up to the skiing at Zell am See, Kaprun and the resort town of Saalbach-Interglemm.
Salzburg experiences four seasons, with the summer months reaching temperatures between 25 and 30°C. In contrast, the winter months are colder, with temperatures below 10°C between November and April. Thanks to its close proximity to the Alps, Salzburg gets its fair share of precipitation: snow in winter and rain in summer – be sure to pack accordingly.
