Glitzy themed hotel-casinos delight first-timers and old hands alike, and a trip to Vegas wouldn’t be the same without throwing a few chips down. The sights and sounds of this hub of gaming are mesmerising, but there is much more to the city. Incredible restaurants vie for your attention, galleries show off iconic art and big name stars play to packed out venues every single night. Beyond the city, the desert presents a chance to see nature at its hardiest. Whether you’re planning a city break or a fly-drive, you’ll find a flight to Las Vegas to suit you.

Then in June, embrace the mind-blowing colours of the Electric Daisy Carnival and see comic book fantasy come to life at Comic Con.

Baseball season starts this month. Book to see the Las Vegas 51s play at their home stadium, Cashman Field from 11 April, against the Fresno Grizzlies. See alternative rock band Bastille with amazing vocalist Rob Smith leading the four piece. For one date only at The Chelsea at The Cosmopolitan on 14 April. At the end of the month fill up at the Great American Foodie Fest at Sunset Station – a great gathering of food trucks, plus carnival rides and the fine US tradition of an eating contest. From epic tacos to Hawaiian poke bowls, it’s the food that will take centre stage.

Rub shoulders with actors and actresses at the Las Vegas Car Stars, where you can relive the 007 dream as you look at Aston Martins and more – from 18 to 20 May on Freemont Street. They don’t call it a ‘Carnival’ for nothing. Then you’ll get a chance to help out a worthy cause whilst enjoying fantastic food. What’s not to like? As part of Las Vegas Restaurant Week from 19 to 30 June, a host of award-winning restaurants and popular local eateries will be donating a portion of their proceeds to the Three Square Food Bank charity. Super hero outfits at the ready… The Amazing Las Vegas Comic Con lands at the Las Vegas Convention Center from 23 to 25 June.
