Sani Asterias is situated in Halkidiki, one of the most popular holiday destinations in northern Greece. It lies along the scenic Kassandra peninsula, boasting sublime views across white-sand beaches and the Aegean Sea. As one of five hotels in the 1000-acre Sani Resort, it offers access to the surrounding forests, wetlands and over five miles of beach. While you may be tempted to stay within the resort with its abundance of activities, it’s also worth taking a trip to the charming Greek village of Afytos, around nine miles away. It’s here that you can explore cobblestone streets with bustling restaurants and local craft markets. Thessaloniki Airport lies to the north, about 45 miles from the hotel.

This luxury hotel is set among beautifully landscaped grounds, awash with palm trees, olive groves and bougainvillea bushes. The contemporary infinity pool lies on one side of the property – surrounded by cream parasols and sunbeds – and the exclusive Blue Flag beach is on the other side. Here, clear waters gently lap soft, white sands, and friendly staff serve light refreshments. The shallower waters and lifeguards on duty make it a safe environment for swimming. If parents wish to swim alone, the dedicated Babewatch staff will care for babies on the beach, for up to half an hour (offered between June and October).
Exclusively for Sani Asterias residents, the serene Spa Retreat offers rejuvenating therapies by Anne Sémonin, including signature aromatherapy treatments. There are two private treatment rooms with steam baths, in addition to a couple’s suite. At the beauty corner, you can purchase Anne Sémonin products. The spa at Porto Sani is also available to Sani Asterias guests, though appointment bookings are required.
Innumerable activities are available just outside the hotel (but still within the resort), including tennis, mountain biking, archery and water sports. There’s a full fitness programme that features daily scheduled activities, ranging from guided jogging to paddleboard yoga; and the sports centre is the perfect spot to play five-a-side football. The treetop adventure in the forest promises fun for the whole family, with a series of zip lines and bridge challenges, and there’s the opportunity to go on complimentary beekeeping trips, sunset cruises and birdwatching tours.
Children can learn new skills at a wide range of academies (for an extra charge), including the popular Chelsea FCF football academy, the sailing academy and the dance academy. Sani Asterias guests can also use the kids’ club facilities at Sani Porto, which caters for children between 4 and 12 years old. Guided nature tours give children the chance to connect with their surroundings, and teenagers (between 12 and 17 years of age) can hang out at Ozone lounge, where they can socialise, play video games and sign up for age-appropriate activities.
Dining information
The Water Restaurant is perfect for a nutritious breakfast or romantic meal, with a veranda that overlooks the sparkling Marina. On the first floor, the acclaimed Over Water Restaurant offers a unique dining menu, handcrafted by celebrated chef, Stephanie Le Quellec, who has received a total of two Michelin stars. Dine here to discover distinct flavours from the Mediterranean and France, coupled with fine wines from Greece and beyond – or visit during Sani Gourmet when it serves as a main festival venue.
The sophistication continues into the Water Bar, where you can enjoy champagnes, premium spirits and signature cocktails. On select evenings throughout the week, there’s also live jazz music. 24-hour room service is available, making it possible for you to indulge in an intimate, candlelit dinner on your own private terrace or balcony. You also have the option to order refreshments from the complimentary ice cream truck which runs around the resort each day.
If you are staying on a half board basis at Sani Asterias, then the Dine Around programme offers the chance to dine at 26 restaurants around Sani Resort. You can select one of the set menus or order a la carte. When ordering a la carte, a meal allowance of €40 per adult and €20 per child will be deducted from the total bill, when applicable. Drinks are not included in the offering and you must make reservations via the Sani Mobile App or by contacting 8700 at the hotel.
The Dine Around offer includes dinner at the Water Restaurant of Sani Asterias. You can also enjoy a buffet-style dinner at Poseidon of Sani Beach and the Olympos restaurant at Sani Club. Additional dining options are available at the four other hotels, including the restaurants at Sani Dunes. You can also head to Sani Marina, where you’ll discover a further seven restaurants that serve lunch or dinner.
