Flights take around nine hours from London Heathrow to Miami International with British Airways. Miami is five hours behind London for most of the year, four hours behind London just as it changes over to daylight savings time.
Hints of the city beyond will strike you from the moment you step into Miami International Airport – Spanish voices, salsa music and the glint of sunglasses worn indoors. Miami airport is eight miles from the city centre.
Hail a taxi outside the terminal or pre-book an airport transfer before you travel to take the stress out of getting to your Miami hotel. You’ll be given the opportunity to add a shuttle or private door-to-door transfer once you’ve booked your Miami flight or holiday.

If you’re travelling on a British passport then you don’t need a visa to fly into Miami – but you do need to apply for an ESTA at least 72 hours before you travel.
