Overview

Built into a cliffside, overlooking Sicily’s enchanting Bay of Mermaids, the Atlantis Bay is a luxurious waterfront hotel with 76 rooms that have a private balcony or terrace and outstanding sea views. The property houses an inviting restaurant, a seafront swimming pool, a small spa and a private sunbathing platform along the bay.

This upmarket hotel lies on Sicily’s dreamy east coast, close to the historic town of Taormina − which can be easily reached via the nearby cable car. In the town, you can admire hilltop views across the Mediterranean Sea, dine at traditional restaurants and visit an ancient Greek theatre. The Taormina Giardini railway station is less than two miles away, easily linking you to other parts of Sicily. Otherwise, you can hire a bike at the hotel or book excursions to Mount Etna with the concierge team (both options are available for a supplementary charge). The bustling port city of Catania lies around 31 miles southwards, while Catania Fontanarossa Airport is situated 40 miles from the property.

The wooden pool deck is attractively adorned with orange trees, bright Bougainvillea, lanterns and plush outdoor furniture. The secluded waterfront platform is just below, providing another idyllic spot for sunbathing. It’s outfitted with ample sunloungers and umbrellas, and you can directly access the water from here.
