Overview

Idyllically positioned on its own private peninsula, the all-inclusive Excellence Oyster Bay is reminiscent of a tropical island escape. This blissful adults-only retreat houses a plethora of restaurants and bars, five pools, an incredible spa, and countless activities for both day and night. Welcoming staff will also go above and beyond to ensure your stay is as romantic and relaxing as possible from eager beachside service to expert restaurant reservations.

The hotel is located on Jamaica’s verdant north coast, tucked away in the peaceful Trelawny parish on its own sandy peninsula. Just over a mile south of the resort is Luminous Lagoon, well worth a visit for its bioluminescent waters. On the other side of the lagoon is Falmouth, the parish capital, a port town steeped in history. Lively Montego Bay and its airport are approximately 25 miles west.

Each spacious suite-style room is tastefully decorated in calming colours, dark tiled floors and patterned walls. Large windows and ample space make these rooms feel light and refreshing, and they give way to stunning ocean or garden views. Standard amenities include soft linens and comfy king-size beds or two double beds in some suites, an in-suite Jacuzzi, rain shower, coffee machine, interactive flat-screen TV and free Wi-Fi. 24-hour room service and nightly turndown service are also included.

The hotel has five pools – two by the beach, two for club members and one rooftop pool with a swim-up bar. With a drink and snack service, you could easily wile the day away poolside or beachside on the comfy sun loungers. Or if you prefer, there’s plenty of activities from paddle boarding and snorkelling to water sports and beach volleyball. Plus, the games centre comes with table tennis, darts, archery, board games and more.

It doesn’t stop there – by evening catch an eclectic line-up of entertainment from live music and theatre to fire dancers and karaoke. During the day you can take lessons in cooking, dance, archery and yoga. Scuba diving courses are at an extra charge.

The top-tier spa has expert practitioners and an extensive hydrotherapy circuit. The circuit has a Swedish sauna, steam room, hydro pool, plunge pool and experience showers. The temperature contrast walk and ice treatment room are particularly unique spa features. Enjoy a relaxing treatment in one of the seven treatment rooms, including one for couples, or one in the oceanfront cabana. If you wish to keep active, the gym is equipped with weights and cardio machines – or you can walk and jog along the dedicated outdoor trail.

The tempting selection of restaurants and bars will cater to all your needs, with wholesome ingredients, great vegetarian options and friendly service. The Kitchen Table, the main buffet-style restaurant, has live cooking stations and serves international dishes for breakfast. For themed dinners, take your pick from French at Chez Isabelle, Italian at Oregano, Japanese and Thai at Spice and traditional American steaks at The Grill. Savour local fare at Caribbean Grove, which features delectable steaks, seafood and jerk specials on the menu, or stop by the casual BBQ stand on the beach. Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, The Lobster House is well-loved for its delicious waffles and seasonal surf ‘n’ turf.

From a sleek martini bar to a relaxed swim-up bar, there’s plenty of bars to choose from. Grab a coffee and fresh pastry at Aroma, a healthy smoothie on the beach at Aire or kick back with a cocktail at X-lounge rooftop bar – a perfect place to ogle those sea views.

If you stay in an Excellence Club Room, you’ll have access to more restaurants. Enjoy international dishes for breakfast, lunch or dinner at Magna or dine at Zenith on the rooftop during sunset. There’s also a beach cocktail bar and two Excellence Club lounges.

Additional information

During the day you may wear shorts, Bermudas, sarongs and T-shirts in restaurants. However, sleeveless T-shirts (for men), tank tops, wet clothes and swimwear are not allowed, and footwear must be worn at all times.

An evening dress code applies in Chez Isabelle, Excellence Club Lounge Villas Section, Zenith, Magna, Martini, Stars and X-lounge. Ladies must wear long pants, capri pants, a skirt with a blouse or a dress. Men must wear long dress pants and a collared shirt; casual shoes and elegant sandals are allowed. T-shirts, tank tops, shorts, beach sandals and flip flops are not allowed. In Oregano, Sports Bar, The Grill, Spice, Lobster House and Caribbean grove the same applies but men can also wear collarless shirts, polo shirts, shorts, Bermudas and long pants.
