How long is the flight from London to Florida?

From London, you can reach Orlando, Miami, Fort Lauderdale and Tampa in approximately nine hours. British Airways operates up to six daily direct flights to Florida from London Gatwick and London Heathrow. The flights land at these four gateway airports: Orlando International Airport (MCO), Miami International Airport (MIA), Tampa International Airport (TPA) and Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL).

How do I get from the airport to the city?

From Orlando International Airport: Hire a car to easily get around the city and venture further on a road trip. Many hotels operate free shuttles from the airport, so check before booking a transfer. Local buses cruise from the airport to most theme parks and resort areas, and tickets only cost around $2-$4. Otherwise, you can jump in a shuttle van or taxi from the airport. Feeling fancy? Limousines charge around $50-$90 for a single trip, and don’t forget to tip.

From Miami International Airport: This airport is conveniently located just seven miles from downtown. Hail a taxi outside the terminal or pre-book an airport transfer before you travel to eliminate the stress of getting to your Miami hotel. You’ll be given the opportunity to add a shuttle or private door-to-door transfer once you’ve booked your Miami flight or holiday. Alternatively, hire a car and explore Southern Florida in your own time.

From Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport: The best way into the centre of the city from Fort Lauderdale Airport is by train; the Tri-Rail service only takes nine minutes. Alternatively, pick up the Broward County Transit bus from the Rental Car Center, Stop 7. Taxi arrangements can be made at the Transportation Podium outside the baggage claim area. For complete flexibility, book our Fort Lauderdale car hire.

From Tampa International Airport: This airport is within easy reach of downtown Tampa. For a seamless journey, pre-book an airport transfer to your Tampa hotel before you travel. You will be able to add a shuttle or private door-to-door transfer once you’ve booked your Tampa flight or holiday. Hire a car and enjoy the freedom of exploring Florida at your own pace. You’ll receive great benefits – with all mandatory charges included and 24-hour customer support.
