Centara Grand Mirage Beach Resort is set along the golden sands of Wong Amat Beach in Thailand. Designed to reflect a ‘lost word’ theme, this large, multi-storey hotel is surrounded by tropical gardens and is home to a multiple swimming pools, a waterpark and a spa complex. Varied leisure activities include tennis, water sports and rock climbing; and kids and teens can spend time at supervised clubs.

Centara Grand Mirage Beach Resort overlooks the Gulf of Thailand and enjoys direct access to Wong Amat Beach and Naklua Beach. It’s just over three miles from Pattaya’s bustling city centre, and the hotel operates a free shuttle service to and from the Central Festival Pattaya shopping centre. You can also visit the traditional floating market of Pattaya, which is less than eight miles away. Pattaya Airport is the closest airport, just over 40 miles south of the hotel, while Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi International Airport is around 73 miles away.

The contemporary rooms are decorated in earthy tones and feature bamboo, wood and stone accents, which subtly suggest the ‘lost world’ theme. The Lost Word Water Park features a meandering lazy river, 12 waterslides, multiple waterfalls, a cliff jumping platform and interconnecting rope bridges. In addition, there is the Monsoon Island splash playground, which is an exciting area for little ones with water fountains, buckets, and miniature geysers. There are four swimming pools altogether, including a free-form pool, children’s pool, lap pool and adult-only pool. The pools are set within a tropicalised landscape and are edged by comfortable sun loungers.

For relaxation, head the quiet outdoor zone to sunbathe, or rent one of the private pavilions dotted around the water park. Alternatively, SPA Cenvaree offers a retreat for the senses with treatment rooms dedicated to soothing Thai massages, and suites for singles and couples. There’s also a separate area with a Vichy rain shower, two plunge pools, a sauna and steam room. Elsewhere, you can try yoga or meditation on the dedicated pavilion or work out at the fitness centre.

The hotel’s sandy beach offers water sports, including kayaking and sailing, while the sports centre includes two tennis courts and rock-climbing facilities. The Camp Safari kids’ club and E-Zone provide daily activity programmes for children and teenagers.

Dining information

Oasis, the main all-day dining restaurant, serves international buffet breakfasts, followed by a la carte lunches and dinners. A seafood buffet dinner with entertainment is also held once a week. You can dine inside, or outside on the terrace,overlooking the jungle-inspired landscape.

Head to the Coast Beach Club & Bistro to enjoy a casual lunch just steps away from the beach. In the evenings, this restaurant serves creative cocktails and grilled meat and seafood dishes. Otherwise, there’s Vistas for light snacks and refreshments throughout the day. If you just want drinks, there’s also the Waves swim-up bar, which serves a variety of drinks and cocktails.

The Italian a la carte restaurant, Acqua, opens for dinner. It serves classic Italian dishes which are made using local and seasonal ingredients. There’s the Russian-themed Flames restaurant, and an Asian buffet dinner at Ginger and Lime. If you prefer the privacy of your own room, the hotel offers in-room dining.
