Scandic Hafjell - Hafjell

Scandic Hafjell is a family-friendly hotel, situated less than a mile away from Norway’s Hafjell Alpinsenter ski resort. This modern hotel boasts a range of facilities, including an indoor pool, sauna, fitness centre and rock-climbing wall – not forgetting a colourful kids’ playroom. There’s also a spacious restaurant and a cosy bar on site, and the rooms showcase stylish Scandinavian design.

The hotel lies north of Oslo, around 110 miles from the capital city. It’s close to one of Norway’s largest alpine skiing resorts, Hafjell Alpinsenter, and is ten miles away from the ski resort town of Lillehammer. For family fun, head to the nearby Lilleputthammer Amusement Park and Playland Hafjell (both are less than half a mile away) or visit the Hunderfossen family park – just over a mile and a half from the hotel. If you’re up for mountain biking, explore the 18 miles of trails in Hafjell Bike Park, less than a mile away. Hunderfossen Train Station, with direct trains to Oslo, is only two and a half miles from Scandic Hafjell, and Oslo Airport is around 90 miles from the hotel.

Rooms are tastefully decorated with white walls, oak-effect headboards, and neutral-coloured carpets (or wooden flooring in select rooms). The beds include soft, grey runners and burnt orange cushions, and a pastel-shaded feature wall depicts skiing and nature scenes. Room amenities include a flat-screen TV, work desk and complimentary Wi-Fi, and the bathrooms contain FACE Stockholm toiletries. Superior rooms are a great option for adventurous families, as they are equipped with a climbing wall and hammocks are available for a supplemental charge. Rooms views vary but some offer picturesque views of the mountains or the park.
