Overview

This Norwegian ski-in ski-out accommodation provides a picturesque mountain setting with 30 alpine slopes for all skiing abilities. When you’re looking to unwind off-piste, you’ll also find a Nordic-inspired spa and a 16-metre climbing wall.

Situated 70 miles from Oslo, and 78 miles from its airport, Norefjell Ski & Spa is Oslo’s nearest mountain resort. Although home to Norway’s greatest vertical drop, most of the terrain is well suited to beginner and intermediate skiers.

Accommodation is decorated in modern, moody Nordic colours with wooden floors. Double Rooms provide a cosy retreat, with some offering mountain views. Or, choose an Executive Suite, providing two bedrooms – one with a double bed and the other with a bunk bed.

Other facilities

Skilled skiers and ambitious ski enthusiasts have ample opportunity get out on the slopes here – 13 lifts, 30 pistes and four routes are spread across 15 miles. Group courses and private lessons for alpine skiing are available. Other local activities include cross country skiing, hiking and canoeing – as well as summitting the 16-metre climbing wall outside the hotel’s main entrance. To indulge in some well-deserved pampering after an active day, head to the spa to choose from warming Nordic-inspired hot stone therapies, body scrubs, wraps and massages, in addition to treatments for couples and families. The spa also has ice showers, foot baths, saunas and Jacuzzis – and if you can brave the cold for a moment, there are heated outdoor Jacuzzis with mountain views. If you’re staying in the high season, listen out for live music in the lobby.

Dining information

When you’ve worked up an appetite on the slopes, head to Matbaren, serving a casual menu for lunch and dinner. For an après ski drink, the Lobby Bar provides refreshments and snacks to enjoy beside the fire. Or book a table at  Restaurant 815, open Wednesday to Saturday, and enjoy a la carte dining.
