Overview

Resembling a rediscovered Arabian Palace, One&Only Royal Mirage is an attractive resort with a Middle Eastern atmosphere. Ideal for couples and families with older children, it comprises three properties in one: the imposing Arabian Court, the Moorish-influenced Palace and the more intimate Residence & Spa.

The resort has its own half-mile-long private beach lining the Arabian Gulf – try a wide range of water sports or just relax and soak up the Dubai sun. There are also oasis-like pools and 65 acres of beautifully landscaped gardens, water fountains, palm tree islands and meandering pathways that lead you between the three properties. Opulence is the watchword here; public spaces are done out with full Arabian grandeur and mesmerising splendour, with grand domes, vaulted arches, mosaic-lined corridors and hand-painted ceilings decorated with intricate Arabic details.

The resort is located directly on Jumeirah Beach next to the Palm Jumeirah, with the Dubai marina just down the road. Skydive Dubai is a few minutes away too if you’re tempted to take to the air and glimpse the Palm Islands from a fresh perspective. Ascend the world’s tallest building, the Burj Khalifa, 12 miles away. Prime shopping at the Mall of the Emirates is under seven miles away, while the thrills and spills of the Aquaventure Waterpark are just six miles away. The pristine greens of Emirates Golf Club are less than two miles away. You could also take a thrilling desert safari just a 40-minute drive from the resort. For a complete contrast, explore the serene oases and ancient forts of Abu Dhabi, 75 miles away. Dubai International Airport is just under 19 miles away.

With stylish rooms and suites, Arabian Court offers a range of accommodation to appeal to couples and families. Rooms are decorated in calming desert tones with bursts of colour. They feature many luxurious details such as hand-carved wooden furnishings, oriental lanterns and embroidered fabrics. Marble bathrooms come with twin vanity units, walk-in showers and televisions by the bathtubs.

The award-winning traditional Oriental Hammam and One&Only Spa is located at Residence & Spa and is available to guests of Arabian Court. Relax in four temperature-controlled pools with plenty of space for secluded lounging, including an adult-only infinity pool with views of the Dubai Harbour Marina, two pools ideal for families with waterslides and a dedicated pool for those staying in the Residence & Spa. There’s also an exclusive Mediterranean-style beach club to enjoy. While away sun-soaked days and chilled evenings at DRIFT with private access to a white-sand beach and striking infinity pool.

There’s a great range of water-based activities to enjoy. Charter a yacht for four and take it out for a tailored fishing trip. Explore the calm waters around the resort on a kayak, stand-up paddleboard or a pedal boat, or try your hand at windsurfing. Alternatively, experience the high-octane, gravity-defying thrills of a flyboard or jet pack. Try water skiing, banana boats or a donut ride, or take a guided jet ski tour with photo opportunities in the surrounding area.

There are three floodlit tennis courts and two paddle courts to enjoy, while lessons are available in both to perfect your swing. There’s also a putting green and dedicated spaces for beach volleyball, petanque and badminton.

Families will feel at home at One&Only. The One&Only Kids Club is open daily from 10:00 to 22:00 for children aged four or over. There’s a natural playground and a grand pool with a kids’ slide. A fun programme of daily activities includes seashell hunting and painting, sand art, cookery for kids, and more. Traditional Arabian games, Arabian camping, henna painting and special treasure hunts complete the experience. Children under four years old are welcome to use the club’s facilities, but must be supervised at all times by a parent or guardian.

Dining information

The resort offers nine tempting restaurants to try. Celebrities offers fine French dining with a light touch in its elegant dining room. Eauzone offers sophisticated modern Asian dining with its beach deck that’s especially inviting for that special romantic dinner. Tagine offers traditional Moroccan dishes presented with panache and a healthy dose of theatrics. Drift Beach Dubai channels Balearic vibes with its chilled-out Ibizan tunes and natural driftwood setting. The more relaxed Beach Bar and Grill serves South American flavours at the beach’s edge.

Elsewhere try the Samovar Lounge for an Arabian reinvention of classic afternoon tea and sample Middle Eastern and European favourites while you watch the action unfurl at the live cooking stations of the Rotisserie.

There are a further seven bars and lounges to try with a mix of ambiences and settings. The Jetty Lounge appeals to jetsetters and locals alike with its beachfront setting that perfectly frames a Dubai sunset. Come here to sample a Belvedere vodka cocktail inspired by the lush gardens. The Rooftop Terrace & Sports Lounge is the perfect spot to watch nightfall gradually descend or to watch football on the downstairs lounge’s large screens.
