Overview

Moon Palace The Grand Cancun stretches along a secluded, white sand beach on Mexico’s Yucatan Peninsula. The property sits within the renowned Moon Palace Cancun complex, offering direct access to lush gardens, a one-mile stretch of beachfront and a wide range of facilities − including 11 restaurants, nine pools, a world-class spa and a 27-holeJack Nicklaus Signature golf course. There’s also an incredible array of family-friendly facilities, such as a water park with a lazy river and slides, a bowling alley and the three-storey Playroom with a labyrinth, neon mini-golf course, bumper cars, laser maze and interactive sports area.

Moon Palace The Grand Cancun lies around 15 miles from Cancun’s lively city centre. You can explore the downtown area, with its local shops and eateries, before heading to the Hotel Zone for restaurants, shopping malls, nightclubs and the beach. You can also marvel at Mayan ruins in the El Rey Archaeological Zone, around 12 miles away, or head to Puerto Morelos’ National Reef Park for an unforgettable snorkelling experience. The hotel is seven miles, or around a 15-minute drive, from Cancun International Airport.

The spacious suites are decorated in an elegant style with wood, marble and gold accents. They each feature a double whirlpool tub, a minibar and a complimentary bottle of wine on arrival. In each suite, floor-to-ceiling windows open onto a furnished terrace or balcony. You can upgrade to a Swim-Up Suite with direct access to the pool, or choose a Family Suite that includes separate rooms for kids and adults, as well as an Xbox, beach bucket and spade set and sweet treats for the kids.

Nine swimming pools are scattered throughout the expansive grounds, including kids’ and adult-only pools. Alternatively, you can splash around the water park with a lazy river, wave pool, wave simulator and water slides – or head to the beach that’s lined with sun loungers, umbrellas, hammocks and palm trees. The stunning beach is totally protected from sargassum seaweed by a floating barrier out at sea.

Families will love the state-of-the-art kids’ zone with a mirror maze, bumper cars, an arcade and more. There’s also a small playroom for younger children, a bowling alley and babysitting service (for an additional charge). Families can also participate in an array of daytime activities, including tennis and mini-golf.

Adults can enjoy live DJ music in the Unique Night Club, hang out at the Beach Club or unwind at Awe Spa, which features hydrotherapy facilities, relaxation areas, a steam room and a juice bar. The spa menu covers a range of massage, body and beauty treatments, all of which are available for a supplementary charge. There’s also a beauty salon, a barber shop and a modern fitness centre with cycling and yoga studios.

You can enjoy the additional facilities throughout the Moon Palace Cancun resort, including the 27-hole Jack Nicklaus Signature golf course (additional charges apply). It’s near enough for you to travel on foot, but you can also borrow a bicycle or hop in a golf shuttle.

Moon Palace The Grand Cancun houses 11 restaurants. At The Grand Buffet restaurant, you can savour international dishes for breakfast, lunch and dinner. El Caribeño restaurant also remains open all day, serving a buffet-style breakfast, followed by a la carte seafood dishes for lunch and dinner. A range of other a la carte restaurants serve delicious cuisine using the finest local ingredients; choose from Lebanese, Mexican, French, American, Italian, Japanese or Peruvian cuisine. There are also 13 bars to choose from, including The Library (a speakeasy cocktail bar hidden behind a bookshelf) and the Beach Bar which overlooks the powdery white sand beach. They all serve top-shelf liquors.
