Overview

Paradisus La Perla (Adults Only) Riviera Maya offers everything you’d expect from a holiday in Playa del Carmen – pools, palms and plenty of sandy seafront, with a generous all-inclusive package. As well as its adult-only concept, you’ll have access to a host of family-friendly facilities at sister resort Paradisus Playa del Carmen, including more pools. In addition to the six adult-only restaurants and six adult-only bars provided at Paradisus La Perla (Adults Only) Riviera Maya, the sister resort offers access to a further eight restaurants and seven bars.

Set in a mangrove forest on the sandy shores of the Caribbean Sea, this resort is located between Playa Punta Esmeralda and Playa Paraiso. It’s less than two miles from central Playa del Carmen, packed full of shops, restaurants and bars, as well as a Frida Khalo Museum, meaning there’s plenty to do in the immediate surrounding area – if you can bear to leave your lounger. A five-mile drive will take you to Xaman-Ha – Mayan ruins dating back to the 13th Century, while a further 15 miles to the east will take you to a trio of cenotes; Azul, Cristalino and Eden. Cancun International Airport is 35 miles north.

In the main accommodation collection, Junior Suite Garden View options feature a small seating area as well as an open-plan bathroom. Suite Garden View accommodation is larger, with separate living and sleeping areas, as well as a private terrace with a hot tub. Master Suites are larger still, offering the same amenities, and can be upgraded further to feature two bedrooms. For more modern digs, as well as access to additional services, opt for a stay in The Reserve collection. Here you’ll find Junior Suites, Suites and Master Suites – some with swim up access – decorated in taupe tones, with rattan light fixtures and walnut-style wooden furniture and panelling accents. As part of The Reserve, you’ll have access to an exclusive lounge for personalised check-in and check-out, as well as snacks, access to a pool and beach area with waiter service and an exclusive restaurant. Enjoy a water ritual at the spa during your stay, in addition to nightly turndown service and aromatherapy room menus on request, as well as a set menu dinner at SAL restaurant.

Other facilities

The main pool is the resort’s central hub, offering pool parties, DJ tunes, aqua-spinning classes and aquarobics. If you’re in the mood for calm and quiet, there’s an additional pool without entertainment and a further pool operates exclusively for those staying in The Reserve accommodation.

YHI Spa is a Mayan-inspired retreat for pampering, with a hydrotherapy circuit, beauty salon and an extensive facial and body treatment menu. Try the Mayan Symphony experience, combining herbal vapours to detoxify, followed by a four-handed massage with pre-Hispanic music, finished with tascalate – a traditional south-eastern Mexican drink. There’s also a fitness centre with Kinesis equipment and personal training available at a charge.

Salsa and merengue classes, cocktail making, and bag and hat painting workshops will keep you occupied in the day, while live music, Mexican mariachis and Mayan shows will keep up the good vibes come evening.

Dining information

A huge choice of drinking and dining outlets means there’s something to suit every taste. Start your day with extensive buffet breakfasts and lunches, hosted at Hadar. In the evenings, a la carte dinners include meaty dishes at Sal Steak Cave (charges apply), Latin-fusion cuisine at Fuego and East Asian meals at Bana.

The selection of bars includes the Fahrenheit pool bar, Kicks, serving pre and post dinner drinks, Japanese bar Toji, mirror-walled M Bar and indoor-outdoor South Avenue Bar. There's a coffee corner by Nespresso, too.

If you’re staying in The Reserve, you’ll be able to enjoy breakfast and lunch at La Palapa, with stunning views, and access an exclusive swim-up bar and beach bar.
