Overview

Dreams Sands Cancun Resort & Spa presents an all-inclusive getaway on one of Cancun’s finest beaches. Placed in prime position in the city’s Hotel Zone, the bustling surroundings offer plenty to explore, if you can tear yourself away from the resort’s dozen restaurants and bars, kids’ club, spa, four pools and sugary sand beach.

Located in the north of Cancun’s Hotel Zone – a six-mile strip of hotels and beaches – the resort is close to shops, restaurants and nightlife. It’s also in the Punta Cancun area, known for clear shallow waters, and the small but perfectly formed resort beach is no exception. Downtown Cancun is only a 15-minute drive away, and Cancun International Airport is just over 14 miles distance.

Rooms feel calming, with stone floors and modern stylings. Deluxe rooms offer partial or full sea views and can be upgraded to include a balcony. Family Suites have two connecting rooms, as well as two bathrooms, making them ideal for both families and groups – they generally feature more colourful decor, too.

Whether you seek tranquillity or activity, all bases are covered here. With almost 200 metres of sandy beachfront, beside the sea is the obvious place to head. You’ll find rows of palms, white sun loungers and thatched umbrellas, as well as water sports, including kayaks, catamaran trips, ocean volleyball and an ocean trampoline. Back on land, there are two pools – both with sea views, one rectangular and infinity-style, the other larger, livelier and squarer, with an adjoining shallow area.

The Spa by Pevonia is ready with high-performance facials, manicures, pedicures, massages and body treatments, as well as reflexology and aromatherapy practicses.

The Explorer’s Club welcomes children from 3 to 12 for crafts, games, treasure hunts and evening beach camping sessions, led by Red Cross CPR trained staff. For the whole family, Caribbean dance lessons, Spanish lessons, beach movies, live music and cooking and cocktail classes provide entertainment.

Dining information

The resort’s main restaurant, World Cafe, serves an international buffet for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Lunch is also found at Barefoot Grill, where grilled and barbecued eats feature on the menu, and at Olio, which serves seafood. Olio also offers dinner, where the theme becomes Mediterranean. Other evening options include Portofino, offering classic Italian cuisine, Himitsu, with Asian-fusion dishes, El Patio, serving authentic Mexican meals, and Gaucho Grill. Open almost 24-hours, Coco Café Cafe serves coffees, ice creams and deli-style snacks.

A selection of bars includes the Rendezvous lobby bar, Manatees swim-up bar and the Barracuda beach bar.

If you’re staying in Preferred Club accommodation, you can enjoy an exclusive a la carte breakfast at El Patio. You’ll also be able to access the Preferred Club Bar, which offers refreshments and snacks during the day, and the Preferred Club Lounge Bar, open in the evenings.
