Overview

Breathless Cancun Soul Resort & Spa is an exceptional adult-only property, nestled between the Caribbean Sea and Nichupte Lagoon in Cancun. It offers a rich Unlimited-Luxury all-inclusive plan and luxurious accommodation with outstanding xhale club member benefits. Superb land and sea activities are plentiful, plus there’s a stunning Spa by Pevonia and a state-of-the-art fitness centre.

The resort is positioned on a powder white sandy beach, lapped by calm, turquoise waters and surrounded by tropical gardens. It’s less than three miles to Cancun’s lively Hotel Zone –synonymous with restaurants, bars and clubs, and approximately six miles to Cancun’s city centre. Well-beaten tourist trails include the ancient city of Chichen Itza, notable for its impeccably preserved 98-foot-tall pyramid Temple of Kukulkan. It’s around 130 miles from the resort, but very worthy of a visit. Around eight miles from the hotel is La Ruta de los Cenotes, known for its cluster of natural sinkholes filled with water formed in limestone caves (cenotes), many of which you can swim in. Cancun International Airport is approximately 15 miles from the property.

The resort is all-suite, split across two interconnecting towers, the quieter of which is the skyline tower whereas, the lively xcelerate tower is closer to the entertainment areas of the property. The suites are spacious and beautifully decorated with neutral colour schemes, featuring marble flooring and blonde furniture, as well as a balcony with ocean or lagoon views. Standard facilities include a king-size bed or two double beds, sensory floor lighting, smart cable TV with remote, Bluetooth in-room speakers and a Nespesso coffee maker. There’s a double rain shower, seating area and double sinks in the bathroom, plus bathrobes, slippers and Gilchrist & Soames toiletries. In addition, your minibar is refreshed daily with beer, soft drinks, water and juice. Those opting to stay in a xhale club room enjoy additional privileges including a balcony hot tub, personalised check-in and check-out with concierge service, access to the private xhale club lounge where daily continental breakfast, afternoon hot and cold hors d’oeuvres, desserts and premium liquors are provided. The resort is overflowing with ways to spend your time. There are three heated pools and two hot tubs on the property, the main one (and largest) is located on the ground floor. All pool areas have a plentiful supply of loungers and parasols, so you’ll not struggle to find your spot. Take your pick from Spanish classes, cooking classes, water aerobics and yoga or head to the water for snorkelling, sailing and kayaking. The indoor theatre features a variety of live music shows and entertainment plus there’s pool parties, rooftop sunset parties and gala parties to attend.

The X-ERT Fitness Centre has an impressive range of fitness equipment and free weights otherwise, stop by the stunning Spa by Pevonia featuring nine treatment cabins (doubles and singles), a hydrotherapy circuit, steam room, hamman room, sauna and therapeutic showers. In addition, there’s a beauty salon with pedicure, manicure and hair styling stations, a boutique as well as a Lush Bar for healthy, refreshing drinks. Golfers can enjoy discounted green fees at Playa Mujeres Golf Course, an 18-hole course offering exceptional ocean views for both experienced golfers and those looking to learn.

Dining information

The resort has a truly impressive range of restaurants and bars to choose from. Your day starts at Spoon for buffet breakfast or stop by here for lunch for a variety of local and international cuisines, prepared at live cooking stations. Burgers and light bites are served al fresco at the Barefoot Grill and Bare Buns, both situated beside the Energy Pool and xcelerate infinity pool respectively. Take a seat at Fish Nets, open for lunch and dinner, offering a delicious menu of seafood specialties with views of the Caribbean Sea. You have several dinner options including Kibbeh for Middle Eastern and Mediterranean cuisine and the not-to-be-missed Pan Asian Silk City. It’s an elegant restaurant, located on the top floor of the skyline tower, boasting breathtaking views of the hotel zone and Cancun city. Tempting meals are served around two Teppanyaki tables or pick your favourite dish at the Sushi station. The resort also offers three a la carte restaurants, specialising in Mexican, French and Italian cuisine, plus there’s a 24-hour Nook Cafe serving drinks and treats whenever you’re peckish.

You’ll not be far from a bar as there are ten options dotted around the resort. Twist & Squeeze, Abyss and Deep Swim-up bar are open during the day, the latter bringing the party-vibe and DJ mixes at the xcelerate infinity pool on level six. Although an extra fee applies, the Fizz Iced Champagne Bar is the place to be seen while Showstopper is open during live shows, at the Ray Theatre. Late venues include Wink – the cocktail lobby bar, The Bar by the Energy pool and After Dark Nightclub & Sports Bar. As the name suggests, it’s open till the early hours plus you can also catch a game here. Exclusively for xhale club members is Purple Bar (complete with a rooftop pool) and xhale Club Lounge, serving a continental breakfast, afternoon hot and cold hors d’oeuvres, desserts and fine liquors.

Private dining can also be arranged to celebrate a special occasion plus you have the opportunity to dine at participating sister properties, as part of the Sip, Savor & See Dining Experience.
