The main pool that overlooks the beach is a real showstopper. It’s oval, tiered and interspersed with ‘floating’ palm trees – and surrounded comfy loungers and cream coloured canvas parasols on the wooden deck. You can also laze on the picturesque beach, dappled in shade from the palm trees and palapa umbrellas. The water is clear, warm and calm – thanks to the local reef, breaking the waves. Head to the boathouse to take advantage of the complimentary water sports, which include water-skiing, windsurfing, sailing, kayaking, pedal boating, snorkelling and glass-bottom boat excursions.

The fitness centre features three dedicated studios – one for strength training, another cardio with Technogym equipment, and a third for yoga, aerobics and spinning. In addition, you have access to two hammams and free use of six floodlit tennis courts as well as privileged access to the 18-hole Mont Choisy Le Golf course.

Hidden away in a quiet corner of the resort and surrounded by lush, tropical gardens is the hotel’s beautiful spa – with 17 massage cabins, including some double cabins. Relax in the two saunas, two steam rooms and the balneotherapy room. There’s also a lovely pool and a hair and nail salon.

For families, the hotel offers an impressive range of facilities, such as the spacious, all-day kids’ club for children aged 3 to 7 and 8 to 11. It’s cosily housed under a thatched roof, surrounded by coconut trees, near to reception with its own pool with a large wooden deck, a dedicated area for afternoon naps, a kitchen and an exclusive buffet restaurant to suit children's preferences.

Outdoor activities are encouraged, plus there’s a series of creative and discovery workshops covering painting, collage, cooking and nature.

Baby care facilities are also available, as is special baby food and babysitting service for one- to three-year-olds during the week (between 13:00 and 16:00).

The Teens Club is free for teens from 12- to 17-year-olds. Snooker, foosball, snorkelling and tennis tournaments are all part of the daily programme.

The hotel is home to six outstanding restaurants and two bars. You have a choice of two restaurants for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The relaxed L’Oasis sits poolside and offers fantastic sea views. It features its own bar and private gazebo above the water – a perfect spot for a romantic evening meal.

Meanwhile, the beachside La Caravelle showcases the finest Mauritian Bistronomy using fresh ingredients. As the name suggests, La Plage is also located along the stunning stretch of beach, open for a la carte lunch and dinner, including gourmet salads, seafood and typical local dishes.

Head over to the chic trattoria Il Corallo, where dishes are inspired by the Mediterranean, paired with the perfect bottle of wine from the restaurant’s cellar. Blue Ginger prepares the finest dishes from Asia, where you can watch the masters at work from the restaurant’s open kitchen, and Mahiya presents a tantalising feast of north Indian cuisine.

L'Oasis Bar is the ideal place for a relaxing drink, light bites for lunch, snacks, pancakes and ice cream. La Caravelle Bar is the place to sip homemade rum, while watching the sun set into the sea.
