Built into the island’s cliff face, the hotel’s location affords unobstructed panoramic views and direct access to the Atlantic Sea. A bird handler on-site uses a trained hawk to deter other birds from nesting around the property. Madeira’s Old Town, or Zona Velha, is a 15-minute drive, or a 30-minute walk away. Its streets are lined with colourful painted doors. From here, you can take a cable car up to Monte to admire the Municipal Gardens – and, if you’re feeling brave, ride one of the island’s famous taboggans (called Carro de Cesto) back down through the winding streets. Funchal’s Municipal Gardens are a 20-minute walk east of the hotel, and Madeira Botanical Garden is 15-minute drive in the same direction.
Rooms are decorated in pale blues and beiges that reflect the seafront setting, and enjoy views of the mountains, pool, or sea. Upgrade to a Junior Suite Garden/Pool View to enjoy more space and a freestanding bath, or upgrade to a Suite to enjoy separate sleeping and living areas. Rooms with sea views are the quietest and offer panoramic views of the sea.

For dinner, Taverna Grill showcases local and Mediterranean cuisine, and the Taverna Bar is the ideal spot to sip a cocktail as the sun sets on the terrace afterwards. There are also plenty of restaurants and bars nearby, should you wish to have a meal out.
If you're staying on half board basis you are entitled to eat in the buffet restaurant, Os Arcos daily, or try the a la carte restaurant with a credit towards food (the opening of the restaurant is subject to hotel’s weekly programme, reservation is required); information is subject to change without previous notice.
