There are plenty of relaxing spaces throughout the property. The pristine beachfront is furnished with plentiful loungers, parasols and hammocks. Spend hours here, listening to the gentle lapping waves and local steel drum music. There are also two swimming pools on the hotel grounds, including an adult-only pool with swim-up bar and a scenic lagoon-style pool, which features a little footbridge and waterfalls. The wooden deck area is the perfect spot to sunbathe and sip refreshing cocktails. Admire ocean views and enjoy the shade afforded by leafy palms and towering casuarinas. You can also head to the onsite boutique store if you need to purchase a new swimsuit or sun hat.

If you begin to feel restless, embrace the wide range of activities on offer. A water sports centre is located on the beach, so you can try a variety of non-motorised sports such as paddle boarding, snorkelling or kayaking. On land you can play beach volleyball. Otherwise, challenge an opponent for a game on the giant outdoor chessboard. There’s also a complimentary fitness centre, a sauna and a beauty salon offering a range of treatments.

Children under the age of 16 years old stay free all year-round. They can enjoy the exciting kids' club (subject to a fee), which promotes fun activities such as arts and crafts, storytelling and beach games. The kids’ club is aimed at children who are 3 to 12 years old (although it only operates when a minimum of three children attend). For older children and teenagers, there’s a special games room with air hockey, pool table, table tennis and video games.

Calabash Beach Bistro is Bougainvillea’s only restaurant, offering a casual ambience. This stylishly decorated restaurant is light and airy with dark wooden pillars, flooring and dining furniture. Breakfast buffets are generous, offering a range of continental options, made to order omelettes and pancakes with all the toppings. Dishes on the dinner menu are inspired by Caribbean and international flavours. Try the Bajan Jerk Fettucine Alfredo or the Captain’s catch of the day.

Half board includes a buffet breakfast and dinner, and full board includes the addition of lunch. Drinks are not included. Some meals will incur extra charges, as will special event dinners, such as those on Christmas and New Year’s Eve.
