Head around Lake Geneva on the French side. Evian is famous for its eponymous Evian brand of bottled water. Two natural sources of the Evian spring are near the centre of town along the Avenue des Sources. The water flows freely here and many locals refill their water bottles at this source. It was a famous spa resort and has the largest themed casino in Europe.
Gruyères is the old capital of the district of Gruyère, also known as Greyerz in German. This medieval town is an important tourist location in the upper valley of the Saane river and gives its name to the well-known Gruyère cheese. Visit its castle, containing a regional museum and an arts museum or the Mont Moléson, a mountain suitable for climbing, or for the less athletic people there is a cable car to the summit.
