The stunning Heritage Awali Golf and Spa Resort is situated in the Heritage Resort on the south coast of Mauritius. This family-friendly resort provides one of the best all-inclusive offerings on the island, with the ‘Standard’ package including access to five restaurants, premium drinks and a massage at the spa. Upgrade to the ‘Premium’ package to include green fees at the Heritage Golf Club, an island sightseeing tour and upgraded dining experiences during your stay. They are located in a former sugar estate, spanning over 2500 acres of the Domaine de Bel Ombre area. Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam International Airport is 25 miles away – approximately one hour by car.
The hotel makes an immediate impression as you arrive, with impressive views from the reception area, over water features and pools, down to the ocean. Comprised of thatched and wooden-tiled buildings, though the resort is large, it maintains an intimate feel. Accommodation features pale tiled floors, fresh white walls and bedding, dark wooden furniture and window frames – livened with warm amber accents. Interior windows allow natural light to flow into the bathroom, though privacy can still be achieved by pulling down the wooden blinds. Deluxe Garden View and Deluxe Sea View accommodation is ideal for families, located close to the family-friendly pool or kids’ club. For Indian Ocean views, opt for a Deluxe Beachfront or a Senior Suite Sea View – the latter offering almost twice the space. The most impressive accommodation is the Heritage Villa Beachfront, with three bedrooms, a private pool and direct access to the beach.

Within the Heritage Awali Golf and Spa Resort, you’ll find three pools – one for adults only.
Joint facilities within the Heritage Resort include the only beach club on the south coast of Mauritius, the chic C Beach Club and the expansive Seven Colours Spa – where you can enjoy treatments in thatched huts, surrounded by greenery. There’s also a fitness centre and activities include yoga classes, beach volleyball, tennis, mountain biking and badminton. Take a guided tour of the Heritage Nature Reserve or tee off at the Heritage Golf Club, offering an 18-hole championship course, a 9-hole short golf course, a putting green, a chipping green and a driving range. Golf carts, trolleys and equipment can also be hired. At the beach, dinghy sailing, windsurfing, canoeing, snorkelling and glass bottom boat trips can be experienced.
Not just an escape for adults, the resort offers a baby club, with supervision from trained nurses. The Timomo kids’ club provides entertainment for ages 3 to 11 and a teens programme is available for those aged 12 to 17 (reservations required).

Five restaurants and two bars within the Heritage Awali Golf and Spa Resort provide plenty of choice. The main restaurant, Savana, is without doubt the place to meet for the extensive buffet breakfast, while Amafrooty provides snacks and light lunches by the pool. Infinity Blue serves seafood a la carte on the beachfront for lunch and dinner and Zenzibar offers snacks throughout the day – transforming into a cocktail bar by night. Enjoy a la carte Italian for dinner at Kuzini, and tuck into Indian cuisine at adult-only Zafarani. Don’t miss pop-up restaurant BOMA, allowing you to dine under the stars, beside a campfire with African-influenced drumbeats.
You can also dine around at other dining venues in the Heritage Resort, including Michelin-starred dishes at La Chateau, pan-Asian cuisine at Ginja and Mediterranean cuisine with lagoon views at C Beach Club (you’ll receive dinner credit towards dine around meals on the all-inclusive plan).

In response to Coronavirus (COVID-19) there will be thermal temperature screening procedures in place. Turndown service will be available on request only, and minibars will only be replenished when your room is cleaned. Restaurants will be operating at a limited capacity and buffets will be limited and/or replaced with a la carte dishes. Cash and card payment for charges incurred at restaurants can only be taken at reception.
Reservations are required for excursions and activities and may operate at a limited capacity. Before a game of golf, you’ll be given a briefing over the phone of key procedures and you’ll also be emailed a copy of procedures in advance of your golf game. There will be no equipment hire available. The shop permits two guests at a time, and you will be required to wear a face mask. Reservations are also required at the spa and for any wellness activities, where you’ll need to use your in-room bathrobe to attend a treatment (where appropriate) and shower beforehand. The changing rooms, Vitality pool, relaxing zone, sauna and hammam will be unavailable until further notice. You’ll also need to reserve a one-hour time slot to use the gym.
The kids’ club will offer a maximum of half-day time slots with a limited capacity, which need to be booked in advance. Shoes are not permitted inside the kids’ club – hotel slippers may be worn, and parents are required to wear shoe covers and face masks when entering. Food will be not be available at the kids’ club.
