Flights to Paphos

Once the capital of Cyprus, and more recently Europe’s 2017 Capital of Culture, Paphos delivers all the elements of a great getaway – sandy beaches, centuries of history, ancient archaeological sites, vibrant nightlife and guaranteed good weather. According to Greek mythology, Paphos was the birthplace of Aphrodite, and it’s not hard to see why visitors fall in love with this sun-soaked Mediterranean destination.

The Mediterranean’s mythical coastal city

Fly to Paphos with British Airways and head for the city’s Archaeological Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site where you can explore the ruins of Roman villas dating from the 4th century BC.

Wander through the underground chambers of the nearby Tombs of the Kings, and climb Fabrica Hill, site of an ancient theatre carved from the rock. Take a dip in the warm waters of Coral Bay, paddleboard around Paphos’ sea caves and look for Aphrodite’s Rock, which legend has it, offers good fortune to those who swim around it three times. Venture inland for a guided tour of the Troodos Mountains and its remote villages or visit a family-owned winery for a tasting. When you get hungry, enjoy lunch at a laid-back local taverna in Ktima – the cultural heart of Paphos. The open-air Aphrodite Waterpark is also perfect for a family trip.
