Flights to Seville

Famous for its foot-stomping flamenco clubs, Spain’s fourth-largest city is a destination to make a serious song and dance about. Catch a rousing performance in a backstreet tablao, soak up centuries of Moorish history, then head to a hole-in-the-wall tapas bar to refuel with croquetas and chilled salmorejo soup. The capital of sunny Andalusia, Seville is also perfectly placed for exploring the delights of Spain’s southernmost region.

The Pearl of Andalusia

Fly to Seville with British Airways and roam through tangled alleyways to reach the 14th-century Real Alcázar.

It’s the oldest occupied royal palace in Europe and once doubled as the Water Gardens of Dorne in Game of Thrones. Next, stroll to another architectural wonder, Catedral de Sevilla. Home to Christopher Columbus’ tomb and the glittering Royal Chapel, visitors can ascend a sloping corridor to the top of the 104-metre Giralda bell tower for panoramic views of the city.

The nearby Las Setas is another highlight, with six towering mushroom-shaped parasols connected by a curving walkway above the Plaza de la Encarnacion. Don’t leave without a trip to the trendy Triana neighbourhood. This quarter is known as the birthplace of flamenco and now home to lively bars, a bustling food market and charming ceramic shops. Seville flight FAQs

A flight from London to Seville takes approximately two hours and 45 minutes.

The cheapest time of year to visit Seville is usually winter. As one of Europe’s warmest cities, with temperatures between 16 and 20 degrees from November to March, it’s a great time to go. Even if it’s not quite the weather to be rolling out your beach towel on Andalusia’s many beaches, you’ll still be able to explore the city’s ancient attractions on foot. Travel in spring and you might also see Seville’s iconic orange trees in blossom after harvest. The price of accommodation increases during the annual Feria de Abril, held in either late April or early May. Use our low fare finder to find the cheapest time to visit.

Seville is more affordable than other big Spanish cities like Barcelona and Madrid. It’s also a popular destination for backpackers, meaning there are plenty of options for those on a budget. You can walk to most of Seville’s must-visit spots, saving money on public transport, and stay in everything from wallet-friendly hostels to luxury hotels.

You can easily reach Seville’s centre by bus or taxi from the airport. The bus is the cheapest option and takes about 35 minutes, while a taxi takes around 15 minutes.

Once you arrive, pick up a hire bike to hop between the attractions on two wheels. Seville has more than 100 miles of cycle lanes, making it easy and safe to ride around. Take the route that runs along the banks of the Guadalquivir River for excellent views.

You can also hire a car with British Airways if you want to get out of Seville and see more of what the surrounding area has to offer. You’ll receive great benefits, with all mandatory charges included and 24-hour customer support, plus you’ll collect Avios points on every rental.

Packed with historical highlights and renowned for its authentic culinary offering, Seville makes for a perfect city break destination. It’s also an ideal base from which to discover the surrounding area, including Andalusia’s 600 miles of coastline. The nearest beach, Matalascanas, is just over an hour away. Head into the Parque Nacional Sierra de las Nieves nature reserve to hike the mountain trails or visit one of the nearby ‘pueblos blancos’ – charming towns filled with whitewashed buildings. The most famous of these hill towns is Ronda, which straddles the El Tajo gorge.
