Check in: what’s new?

We are constantly expanding and improving our check in services so that you can spend less time queuing and have more time for yourself.

Find out more about:

New airport check in kiosk features
  • Passengers connecting to a flight of one of our oneworld partners now benefit from a new through-check in facility. Subject to the onward flight being open for check in, boarding passes will be delivered with those for the British Airways service.
  • Customers who have checked in on-line but have been unable to print a boarding pass because, for example, the printer’s ink supply was exhausted, may now use a new reprint facility available on check in kiosks. Simply enter the booking reference to reveal a screen that shows the name(s) of the passengers in the party and then select the Reprint Boarding Pass option against the appropriate passenger name(s).
  • Several countries now participate in the Advance Passenger Information System (APIS). This involves the collection of certain items of information from your passport prior to flight departure. If any member of your party has not supplied this information before arriving at the airport, it is now possible to do it as part of the check in transaction at a kiosk. However, to save time at the airport, we strongly recommend that you visit the Manage My Booking section of this website. By entering your Booking reference and family name in the ‘Go to my booking’ panel, you can find out if you are flying to an APIS destination and give all the
    information required on-line.
  • You can find out where kiosks are located at your departure airport when you view your flights in: Manage My Booking, At the airport, under check in options.
Extra security when travelling from the USA

Due to extra security checks when travelling from the USA, you must see a British Airways agent if you have checked in:

  • at ba.com and printed your own boarding pass or
  • at an airport kiosk and have received your boarding pass

Please go to one of our Fast Bag Drop or check in desks, in order to complete formalities before passing through security.

This applies even if you are travelling with hand baggage only.

Boarding pass - available from over 190 locations

In addition to the check in service on ba.com, British Airways is offering you the opportunity to print your own boarding pass before reaching the airport. Please see below for available locations.

There are different options of printing your boarding pass to suit your needs

ba.com will offer you different ways to be able to print your boarding pass:

  1. Print to a printer connected to your pc or laptop
  2. Email a copy of your boarding pass to print later
  3. Forward your boarding pass to a fax machine to be printed
  4. Save your boarding pass as a pdf file to be printed later – save to your computer or memory stick to print when and where you want
  5. Or use a Check-in kiosk at the airport (where available) or visit a Check-in desk to collect your boarding pass.

You will need to have your boarding pass printed on paper to be accepted for travel at the airport.

You can also authorise a colleague, friend or secretary to check you in online and send you the Online Boarding Pass as an email.
