If you've checked in online or at a Check-in kiosk at Terminal 5 and you are
you will need to go to one of the passport and visa check desks before going to Security.
This helps keep the flow of people through Security running smoothly.
If you have luggage for the hold:
It should only take around ten minutes to pass through security from the moment you arrive, (based on the average time it takes one passenger using a self service Check-in kiosk and checking in one bag at Fast Bag Drop on a normal operational day).
To ensure we deliver the service you expect and avoid delays, you must pass through Check-in and Security and be ready to fly at least 35 minutes before your flight departs. If you miss this deadline, you will not be allowed on to your flight.
A digital photograph of all customers on UK Domestic flights from London Heathrow Terminal 5 will be taken at airport security. When boarding the flight, the photograph will be checked. Once checks are complete, all photographs will be deleted.
Terminal 5 has two departure buildings, Terminal 5A and Terminal 5B.
There are two Galleries Lounge complexes open in Terminal 5A
Note: the southern complex includes the Galleries Concorde Room and Galleries First Lounge.
Our Galleries Club lounge located in Terminal 5B will open once the majority of our long haul intercontinental flights have moved into Terminal 5.
Until then we encourage eligible customers to enjoy our lounges in Terminal 5A and only proceed to Terminal 5B when ready for boarding.
As we continue with our move into our new home, Heathrow Terminal 5, there will be some changes to our other lounge facilities over the coming months.
In Terminal 4 we will be closing some of our lounges as customer demand reduces in line with the volume of flights from the terminal.
| Lounge | Date of closure | Alternative Lounge to use |
|---|---|---|
| Concorde Room at Gate 10 | 16 September 2008 | Eligible customers use British Airways Gate 1 Lounge |
The Terraces Lounge at Gate 1 will remain open until we no longer fly from Terminal 4. This lounge will include a pre-flight dining restaurant for First customers
Other facilities in the Gate 1 lounge include a Chefs Theatre
* Elemis spa treatments are not available in this lounge.
