Terminal 5 consists of three satellite buildings. They are all used for departures and arrivals.
These buildings are all linked by a transit system, and the transit trains run frequently.
Please note - Do not make your way to Terminal 5B or Terminal 5C unless you are departing from these terminals, as this may result in you missing your flight.
Eligible customers may use the lounges in Terminal 5A or Terminal 5B if their flight departs from Terminal 5C as there are no lounge facilities in T5C. Please ensure you have enough time before your flight to make use of the lounge facilities and to proceed to the terminal you are departing from.
Terminal 5A is the main terminal building. There are two customer service desks in this terminal: the Central and South customer service desks. The South customer service desk is located towards the southern end of the building, and is the only point after security where flight bookings can be made or amended. The Central customer service desk can be used to obtain information about your departure and is located on the main concourse towards the northern end of the building.
Terminal 5A also houses the British Airways Galleries First and Club lounges, the Concorde Room, as well as the Arrivals lounge.
The Arrivals lounge is located on the 1st floor using the green lifts before check-in and security.
Terminal 5B has a Club Galleries lounge for the use of eligible customers departing from Terminal 5B and Terminal 5C. There is also a customer service desk where you can get flight departure information. There are also a few shops in this satellite terminal.
Eligible customers departing from Terminal 5C are welcome to use the lounge here. Please ensure you have enough time before your flight to use this facility and make your way to Terminal 5C.
Terminal 5C is the smallest of the three and has a customer service desk and a few shops. There are no lounge facilities here.
If departing from terminal 5C, eligible customers are asked to use the lounge facilities in Terminal 5A or Terminal 5B and then travel on the transit train to Terminal 5C when they are invited to board their flight.
Please note: Proceeding to a satellite building other than the one you are departing from may result in you missing your flight.
Eligible customers departing from Terminal 5C should ensure they have enough time before their flight to use the lounge facilities and make their way to their respective gates.
If you are connecting onto another British Airways flight please ensure you are familiar with which terminal your onward flight departs from. Please use our 'Which London Terminal' tool to obtain this information.
Terminal 5 is made up of three satellite buildings, and all three buildings are used for arrivals and departures.
The recommended minimum transfer time for flight connections within Terminal 5 is 60mins.
The recommended minimum transfer times if travelling between London Heathrow terminals is 90mins.
Upon disembarkation of the aircraft, if connecting please follow the purple flight connections sign which will direct you towards the flight connections centre.
Please ensure you check the flight information screens in the arrivals corridor on your way to flight connections. It is possible that your gate number may be displayed and that you may be departing out of the same building that you have landed in. If this is the case then you can contact British Airways staff that will be happy to assist you.
If you do not see your flight listed on the flight information screen, please carry on following the purple sign and board the train to flight connections.
Once you have arrived at the flight connections centre and once your documentation has been checked you will then be allowed to pass through security, and proceed to the departures lounge.
Please monitor the flight information screens in the departures lounge, where your gate will be displayed.
All passengers arriving on longhaul or shorthaul services who have a domestic connection should follow the purple flight connections sign. Once you are in the flight connections centre, please proceed to the domestic zone where your documentation will be checked and your photo taken before proceeding through to security.
For passengers arriving on a domestic flight and connecting onto a shorthaul or longhaul service, please follow the Flight Connections Terminal 5 sign. This will direct you to a desk where your photo will be captured and you can then go through to the departures lounge.
