Terminal 5 has three departure buildings, the main Terminal 5A and two satellites, Terminal 5B and Terminal 5C. They are linked by a transit train.

Check-in facilities at Terminal 5
Print your boarding pass
If you have used online check-in or mobile check-in and you need to print your boarding pass, you can go to a check-in kiosk or a check-in desk at the airport to collect it.
Check-in kiosks
Terminal 5 is split into zones with Zone A at the North end of the terminal and Zone J at the South end.
To help the flow of people through the terminal, you should go to the zone relevant to your destination or class of travel.
Zone information
- Zone A - is for children travelling alone and customers who have oversized baggage to check in.
- Zones B and C and G - Bag Drop desks for domestic, shorthaul and longhaul flights. Customers with hand baggage who are travelling longhaul, or to Kiev or Tripoli can get their passports checked in this zone.
- Zones D, F and G - Bag Drop for domestic, shorthaul and longhaul flights.
- Zone G - Fast Bag Drop desks for domestic, shorthaul and longhaul flights and customers travelling to Moscow or St. Petersburg must go to this zone to have their passport checked and to drop off checked baggage.
- Zone H - is the dedicated Business Class area of the terminal. Club World and Club Europe customers can also use any of the relevant zones shown above. Our Silver Executive Club members can also use this zone to check in.
- Zone J - is the dedicated area of the terminal for First customers. First customers can also use any of the eligible zones above.
Bag Drop desk opening times
Bag Drop desks for checked baggage open at the following times -

Passport & visa checks for intercontinental flights - hand baggage only
Intercontinental flights include Moscow, St Petersburg, Kiev and Tripoli.
If you have hand baggage only and you have checked in online, using a mobile or at a check-in kiosk, you will need to go to a passport and visa check desk before going through airport security. This ensures we have checked that you are ready to fly and are carrying the correct passport and travel documents before going through airport security.

If you have baggage to check in, your passport and visa will be checked at a Bag Drop or Customer Service Desk.
Security for UK Domestic flights
A digital photograph of all customers on UK Domestic flights from London Heathrow Terminal 5 will be taken at airport security. When boarding the flight, the photograph will be checked. Once checks are complete, all photographs will be deleted.
Lounge information
If you’re travelling in First, Club World or Club Europe or are a Gold or Silver Executive Club member, you’ll have access to Terminal 5’s exclusive Galleries lounges, sleek contemporary interiors with a touch of uniquely British style.
Terminal 5A and Terminal 5B each have lounge facilities. There are no lounge facilities in Terminal 5C.

The Concorde Room
For customers travelling in First*.

- a dedicated work and entertainment zone installed with full Microsoft Office software package

Galleries Club lounges
For Gold and Silver Executive Club members, and customers travelling in First, Club World and Club Europe.
The Galleries Club lounges offer a range of luxury amenities throughout, including:

- a 20 seater cinema
- free Wi-Fi throughout
- dedicated work and entertainment zone with desktop computers and printers
- a complimentary Silver Bar

There is a Galleries Club lounge at both ends of Terminal 5 as well as in the satellite building, Terminal 5B.
If you are departing from Terminal 5A, you must use the lounges within 5A and not go to 5B as you will not be able to return to 5A.
If you are departing from Terminal 5C, you must use the lounges in 5A or 5B as there are no lounge facilities in 5C.
Galleries Arrivals lounge
Exclusively for those travelling in First and Club World or Gold Executive Club members travelling longhaul, the Galleries Arrivals lounge has been designed to allow you to pause, unwind, collect your thoughts and freshen up.
Make sure you’re refreshed and ready for the day ahead with an invigorating power shower, help yourself to food and drink or catch up on some work.
You can also enjoy a complimentary well-being treatment at the Elemis Travel Spa while the valet service presses your suit, ensuring you leave looking as good as you feel.
The Galleries Arrivals lounge at London Heathrow Terminal 5 is open daily from 05.00 to 14.00.
Galleries Club lounge in Terminal 5B
If you're travelling on a longhaul flight from Terminal 5B, we suggest you use our Galleries Club lounge located in Terminal 5B.
You are offered the same facilities as the Galleries Club lounges in Terminal 5A. It also means that you will be close to your gate for boarding, as the journey between 5A and 5B takes approximately 15 minutes.
If you are departing from Terminal 5B or Terminal 5C, we recommend that you leave the lounge 35 minutes before departure to ensure you arrive at the boarding gate no later than 20 minutes before departure.

If you do not meet this time, you will not be allowed on to your flight.
Fast track boarding
Fast track boarding gives Gold and Silver Executive Club members and customers travelling in eligible cabins priority boarding at the departure gate. It is available on all flights departing from London Heathrow Terminal 5.
Customers travelling in the following cabins are eligible to use Fast track:
- First
- Club World
- Club Europe
Business UK ticket holders are also eligible to use Fast track boarding.
