How can I spend my Avios?
As the currency of the Executive Club, Avios opens up a world of possibilities. You can spend them on reward flights with British Airways and our oneworld® partners and for one-cabin upgrades with us, Iberia and American Airlines. The amount of Avios you need will depend on your destination and class of travel.
Avios are not just for reward flights and upgrades. They can also be used for hotel accommodation, at thousands of hotels worldwide, and for car rental with our partner Avis. And if you don’t quite have enough, or want to save them for another trip, you can always pay for reward flights, hotel accommodation and car rental using Avios & Money, an option that allows you to pay with fewer Avios and more money.
Reward flights and upgrades

Your Avios can take you all over the world. Provided there is availability, you can spend them for one-way or return reward flights with British Airways and with our oneworld partners. You can also use them for one-cabin upgrades with us, Iberia and American Airlines.
All British Airways fares in World Traveller Plus and Club World, apart from reward flights, can be upgraded using Avios. Only fully flexible tickets (Y, B, H fares) in World Traveller are eligible. Selected fares with American Airlines and Iberia can be upgraded with Avios too. Please see the ‘About reward flights and upgrades’ page for full details.
What’s more, you’ll be pleased to know there are reward seats on every single British Airways flight, and no blackout dates, so the earlier you book the better chance you stand of getting the flight you want. Checking again nearer the time can pay off, since more seats often become available nearer to departure.
