| Asian vegetarian | Does not contain fish, shellfish, meat, poultry or eggs. It is a meatless meal and spicy in content. The name will change to Vegetarian Hindu meal from travel departure date 1/6/2009. |
| Lacto ovo vegetarian | Does not contain meat, fish or seafood. May contain dairy products such as milk, butter, cheese and eggs etc. |
| Vegan vegetarian | Does not contain meat, fish, fowl, eggs, honey, dairy products or derivatives. If vegan is not specified, then a lacto ovo meal will be provided. |
| Hindu | Does not contain beef, beef derivatives, veal or pork, is a not meatless meal. |
| Muslim | Does not contain pork, by-products of pork or foodstuffs containing alcohol. All meats come from ritually slaughtered animals. NB. Muslim meals are not available on European flights when the aircraft has night-stopped away from the UK, except Frankfurt, Berlin and Tel Aviv. |
| Kosher | These meals are prepared to comply with Jewish dietary laws. NB. Kosher meals are available on all long haul routes apart from The middle East, Nairobi, Mauritius, Muscat, Abu dabi, Entebbe, Dar es salaam, Dacca, Accra and Nassau. |
| Baby meal | Tinned baby food will be provided on request, although not available on some European routes. However, parents are advised to bring their usual powdered milk which can be prepared and heated on the aircraft. |
| Child meal | Contains a combination of familiar and fun foods. Available on all longhaul services for children aged 2-12 years and on certain shorthaul services. NB. Meals should be booked 24 hours in advance as only a limited supply of extra meals are carried. May contain Beef and Pork products. |
| Seafood meal | Contains a selection of seafood for those restricted to eating seafood only. Availability is restricted on some European services. |
| Jain meal | Jain meals are strict vegetarian meals, the food is prepared Indian style, the meal does not contain onions, potatoes, garlic or root vegetables. Available from depature date 1/6/2009. |
