Beginners

Absolute beginners will want to head to the top of the Champoluc cable car. The gentle nursery slopes here are perfect for gaining confidence. It is easy to progress from here to longer, more challenging, blue runs.

Intermediate

Champoluc offers many kilometres of fun cruising for skiers and snowboarders. The stunning views across the three valleys only enhance your experience on the slopes. The long run from Champoluc to Alagna is a great example.

Advanced

There are a number of demanding black pistes across the Monterosa area. Just outside the marked pistes are plenty of challenging runs through trees. The more intrepid will love the breadth of off-piste snow accessible from Champoluc. Heli-skiing and off-piste guides can help the advanced seek out wonderful, untracked powder.

Families

Champoluc ski school is good. The lack of foreign languages spoken by instructors here should be kept in mind, but the standard of tuition is excellent. With a nice range of nursery and blue slopes, and a quiet village atmosphere, this is a good option for a family skiing holiday.

High altitude

Champoluc offers snow-sure skiing at altitudes of up to 3500 metres. There are plenty of groomed pistes above 2500 metres that are easily accessed from Champoluc village. Snow reliability is good throughout the ski season.

Après ski

Champoluc après ski is a laid-back affair. A great array of restaurants and cafés, from the pizzerias to nouvelle cuisine, offer a friendly atmosphere in which to enjoy a well-earned meal after a day on the slopes. Worthy of particular note is the excellent local cuisine. Le Sapin, Lo Bistrot and Favre are three of many worth visiting in Champoluc. The friendly, relaxed après ski here is perfect for family groups. Local bars and hotels are welcoming for drinks until late evening, Il Golosone, La Brasserie and Café Rimbaud are great options. Gram Parson Disco offers dancing and music into the night.
