Today, Borovets is Eastern Europe's biggest ski resort and the most established in Bulgaria. Situated at 1300m, on the highest peak in the Balkan Peninsula, Borovets is surrounded by the majestic Rila mountains. The resort is compact but lively and offers skiers excellent value for money. Borovets has 40km of pistes and is best suited for beginner and intermediate skiers. Experienced snowboarders will love riding the higher pistes and enjoying the breathtaking views.
All nursery slopes are located at the base of the Martinovi Baraki area. One is just 20 metres from resort and the second is accessible by gondola. Beginners can then progress on to the more challenging slopes by the Sitnyakovska chairlift.
