Or take a trip through the countryside onboard a wooden train to Sóller, on Mallorca's north coast, passing through citrus groves and almond orchards on the way.
Return visit
Take in the Palma district of Santa Catalina, home to a vibrant fruit and vegetable market. Or join the city's fashionistas for chilled beers in the old fisherman's quarter of Portixol, east of the Old Town. Head to the north coast town of Deià to visit the Robert Graves Museum, the former country home of the early 20th-century British poet. Get off the beaten track and walk the windswept cliffs and secluded beaches along Mallorca's north-eastern coast at Cap de Formentor.
