The United Kingdom no longer accept passengers travelling on a South African temporary passport, please ensure that you obtain a valid passport when travelling to or transiting through the United Kingdom.
New Lounge opens at OR Tambo International Airport, Johannesburg
Space and an array of services and facilities, which are comparable to the exceptional London Heathrow Terminal 5 Galleries lounges, are the main features of the new British Airways’ departure lounges at OR Tambo International in Johannesburg.
The new lounges, known as 'Galleries', are capable of hosting up to 243 people and have replaced the former 'Terraces' lounge With separate First and Club lounges, the Galleries offer comfortable seating in a premium and tranquil environment, five showers, an increased number of male and female washrooms as well as a dedicated baby change.
Ten personal computers and a dedicated concierge desk will also enable our customers to access services and manage their affairs - from booking theatre tickets and taxis to changing flight details.
This wealth of high-end amenities is provided to cater to any relaxation or work needs before flights.
The Galleries First Lounge
The Galleries First Lounge, with 80 seats, is open to British Airways FIRST customers and Gold Executive Club members.
The lounge features ‘The Gold Bar’, which is lit by crystal chandeliers and stocked with some of the world’s most interesting wines and spirits.
The Deli Bar and Coffee House also offers a selection of hot and cold foods as well as hot beverages. A Work and Entertainment Zone provides wired PCs and free Internet access across the lounge.
The Galleries Club Lounge
The Galleries Club Lounge is open to British Airways Club World, Gold and Silver Executive Club members.
With 163 seats, it features a Silver bar providing a selection of drinks and fine wines all under the glow of a crystal chandeliers. A choice of hot and cold foods, as well as hot beverages are available from the Deli Bar and Coffee House located within the lounge.
The lounge also has a Work and Entertainment Zone with limitless free Internet access and a News Zone to allow customers to catch up on the latest world events.
