Airline of the Year 2006 awarded to British Airways

British Airways has scooped the title of Airline of the Year 2006 at the annual Skytrax World Airline Awards.

Jumping four places from last year's line-up, British Airways beat key competitors from all over the world, including the Asia Pacific region, to take the award.

Martin George, British Airways' commercial director, said " We are delighted to have won this award. They are judged by the people whose opinions we value the most- our customers. We thank them for taking the time to vote."

Our partnership with Qantas

Launch of Best of Britain travel planning website
