The latest information from British Airways, from special discounted fares to important travel tips.
We have announced capacity reductions as one of the measures we are taking to deal with the difficult and fast changing trading environment. The changes in capacity come mainly from reduced frequency on multi-frequency routes and are being done with relatively little impact on the network.
One of the changes is a reduction in the number of flights from Tokyo to London. From December 8th we will reduce to a single daily flight between Tokyo and Heathrow; this change is made indefinitely and will remain as a single daily service into summer 2009. Initially, the cancellations will be a mixture of the BA6 and the BA8 from Tokyo (and similarly the BA5 and the BA7 from London). The schedule from Tokyo will be announced after 18 August.
All passengers affected by the route changes, either the reduction in frequency on the Tokyo route, or any of the other changes to our network, will be contacted via their booking agent and offered the option to re-book on an alternative flight or receive a full refund. A full list of the impacted services currently announced can be found here.
All customers to Japan are now required to make a written declaration about the belongings. Customs Declaration Form is available on arrival hall at Narita airport or at Customs web site. We recommend you to download the form and fill in before your departure.
We have increased our fuel surcharge on all flights, effective from 1 April 2006, as a result of further rises in the price of oil.
The fuel surcharge applies to all routes and tickets issued in Japan regardless of the age of customer.
