British Airways is the official carrier for the British & Irish Lions  tour to South Africa!

British Airways has a strong rugby tradition. We backed the 2005 Lions tour of New Zealand, England’s 2003 successful World Cup campaign and has been a supporter of South African rugby since 2000.

Not only will it bring the Lions team and thousands of English, Irish, Welsh and Scottish fans to South Africa, but together with British Airways operated by Comair, will fly these and thousands more local rugby supporters to the seven matches and three tests around the country.

In June British Airways will be increasing its flights to South Africa from London by five a week. Some of the additional seats will be taken up by Lions supporters and others by football fans coming for the Confederations Cup.

The new lounges, known as 'Galleries', are capable of hosting up to 243 people and have replaced the former 'Terraces' lounge With separate First and Club lounges, the Galleries offer comfortable seating in a premium and tranquil environment, five showers, an increased number of male and female washrooms as well as a dedicated baby change.

Ten personal computers and a dedicated concierge desk will also enable our customers to access services and manage their affairs - from booking theatre tickets and taxis to changing flight details.

This wealth of high-end amenities is provided to cater to any relaxation or work needs before flights.

The Galleries First Lounge, with 80 seats, is open to British Airways FIRST customers and Gold Executive Club members.

The lounge features ‘The Gold Bar’, which is lit by crystal chandeliers and stocked with some of the world’s most interesting wines and spirits.

The Deli Bar and Coffee House also offers a selection of hot and cold foods as well as hot beverages.  A Work and Entertainment Zone provides wired PCs and free Internet access across the lounge.
