You can unravel Jersey's past by exploring the Napoleonic defences of Greve de Lecq on the north coast. Or head inland to visit the vineyards of La Mare, Jersey's only wine estate. Join a guided 'moonwalk' across ribbed sands for a closer look at seaweed and marine life in the salty rock pools of La Rocque in the south-east. If you're after an active holiday, hire a bike and cycle along the 50 miles of green lanes which cross Jersey's inland countryside, stopping at Hamptonne for a glass of locally made cider or a Jersey cream tea.
