Advance Passenger Information

  • Throughout 2009, the UK Government will implement its requirement for Advanced Passenger Information from all passengers travelling internationally into and out of the UK. This is being rolled out on a route by route basis over the coming year.
  • The Governments of the countries listed below require British Airways to collect Advance Passenger Information from all passengers prior to travel and in future this information will also be passed to the UK authorities.
  • Advance Passenger Information means your passport/identity card details and in some instances, your contact information, are provided to the authorities before you travel.
  • British Airways will only provide each country’s Customs and Immigration Authorities with the required relevant information.
  • Some governments also require airlines to provide them with direct access to airline passenger bookings, which may contain other passenger data.
  • It is important that the information provided is accurate so you pass through Immigration on arrival in these countries without delay.
  • You must provide this information when you check in and we strongly recommend that you do so in advance of going to the airport.
  • You can complete your Advance Passenger Information form through Manage My Booking or when you check in at ba.com.

  • given names (as they appear on the passport)

Caribbean

Laws in force in the Caribbean countries listed above will require British Airways to collect the following information from all passengers travelling to those countries, prior to travel.

United Arab Emirates

United Kingdom

Laws in force in the UK require British Airways to collect the following information from all passengers travelling to and from the following countries prior to travel:
Algeria, Angola, Argentina, Australia, Bahamas, Bahrain, Bermuda, Brazil, Caribbean, Cayman Islands, China, Cyprus, France, Gibraltar, Hong Kong, India, Israel, Italy, Kenya, Kosovo, Kuwait, Luxembourg, Maldives, Malta, Mauritius, Mexico, Netherlands, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, South Africa, Spain, Tanzania, Thailand, Tunisia, Turkey, Turks & Caicos, Uganda, Ukraine, USA, United Arab Emirates and Zambia.

The following countries are included from 2 December 2009:
Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Egypt, Ghana, Libya, Nigeria, Romania, Russian Federation, Serbia and Switzerland.

USA

Laws in force in the USA require British Airways to collect the following information from all passengers travelling to and from the USA, prior to travel:

  • passport number
  • country which issued passport
  • passport expiry date
  • given names (as they appear on the passport)
  • last name
  • gender
  • date of birth
  • nationality
  • the Alien Registration Number (Green Card) is also required for those who have US residency.

In addition, the following information is required for passengers travelling to the USA from the UK:

  • country of residence
  • destination address in the US for all passengers except US Citizens or residents
