Group travel

For groups of 10 or more in economy and 7 in our premium classes we offer excellent fares combined with the most beneficial terms and conditions specifically designed for group travel.

Group travel guidelines

These group travel rules apply to UK booked groups only, for other country rules, please contact your nearest BA office.  

Group size

In our economy and World Traveller Plus classes the minimum group size is 10 passengers or more travelling together on one flight on either the outbound or inbound portion of the journey.

For travel in our premium cabins we will look at a minimum of 7 passengers.

Names

A key benefit is the facility to provide late names at 5 days prior to departure.

Prior to tickets being issued name changes are free of charge.

Once tickets are issued name changes are permitted at a charge of £25 per change and must be carried out prior to departure.

Payment

The deposit amount is 20% of the fare or £20 (whichever is greater). The timescales will be dependent upon when travel is commencing.

Full payment is due at 6 weeks prior to departure date.

For late bookings within 6 weeks of departure, whilst a deposit is not required, full payment must be made within 72 hours of the booking being made.

If a booking is made within 72 hours of departure then names and full payment are due immediately.

Once tickets are issued no changes/refunds are permitted.

Baggage

In addition to the generous free baggage allowance we also have vast experience in dealing with groups carrying sporting equipment and musical instruments.

Any excess baggage requirements should be advised at the time of booking.

Seating

We have the facility to ensure that your group is block seated together within the aircraft. A block allocation of seats will be assigned to all group members upon request before departure where possible.

Self Service Check-in / Fast Bag Drop

Groups are permitted to utilise the Self Service Check–in machines at their departure airport.

It takes approximately 1 minute to check–in for a single flight (approx. 3 minutes for a return journey), the queues are quicker & shorter because of this speed, and checking–in hold baggage is also faster by using the Fast Bag Drop facilities.

In-flight amenities

Inspection tickets

Another benefit of booking your group with British Airways is an Inspection ticket facility. Depending on the size of your group we permit a member of the group to enjoy the British Airways product and your destination in advance of the main group travelling.

Upgrade rates

Up to 50 percent of your group can upgrade to a higher cabin with access to special upgrade rates.
