With colonial undertones, this traditional-style hotel is elegant and serene. Even when full, it rarely feels busy. It enjoys a lovely location on the Island's south coast nestled between the Indian Ocean and the Plaine Champagne Hills. The Citronniers river runs through its 15 hectares of land and gardens. The resort comprises 158 rooms and suites and 20 villas. Elegantly decorated, the accommodation captures the essence of old plantation houses, with mahogany wood and ivory coloured fabrics. Many of the rooms are particularly good for families with interconnecting rooms and convertible sofa beds. Other child-friendly features include excellent children's menus and a kids' club. The latter is called Timomo and Friends and is open every day from 08:30 to 23:30. Different activities for children aged from two to 11 include sweet hunting, shell painting, art competitions, card making and outdoor activities. There are even swimming lessons. This resort is ideal for golfers and offers unlimited free green fees at the Heritage Golf Club, a par 72 championship golf course built over 150 acres, with scenic views of the Indian ocean and the mountains in the background. The Seven Colours Spa, Millesime collection is located amongst the tropical gardens with water features and coconut palms. It offers both modern and ancient techniques in nine treatment rooms and two outdoor gazebos surrounded by ponds, with a private pool and relaxation area. The resort offers an impressive choice of dining experiences with five restaurants in total. These include Annabella's, which provides a daily changing, delicious five course menu, (included on the half board option). Gin'ja is located on a stretch of powder white sand and offers the freshest seafood and fish served Japanese style. People come from all over the island to eat here. Le Chateau de Bel Ombre is a romantic 19th century chateau-style restaurant, with antique wood panelling. It serves elegant Mauritian cuisine and has an exclusive wine cellar.

Annabellas, the main restaurant, is an interactive show kitchen where guests and the kitchen brigade anjoy a convivial atmosphere, offering a five course choice menu nightly, 3 menus on a 14 day rotation. Ginja, a modern lifestyle restaurant is set on the beach ideal for a romantic dinner at sunset. Dining in this restaurant is extended to a feet in the sand experience with table settings on the beach along the waters edge with the mood enhanced by flaming torches. For dinner, a food credit is offered. Le Palmier, overlooking the pool and the ocean, is a Mediterranean style restaurant which is open from morning until sunset. Enjoy Mediterranean style flavours from open wood fired ovens or a range of refreshing beverages and exotic cocktails. Beach waiter service is also available. Built in the early 19th century and set amidst 100 year old gardens, this Manor house was the heart of the Bel Ombre estate. A convivial lunch over a Mauritian menu or gastronomic French meal with Island flavours, the restaurant is open for lunch through to dinner. For dinner a food credit is offered. The Cavendish bar and lounge is the masterpiece of the hotel, this bar boasts a cigar and library lounge where in comfortable armchairs the connoisseur can enjoy the sounds of the resident band, overlooking the river. From 1st April 2012, the Cyan restaurant will serve Italian food including antipasti and other authentic Italian dishes served in casual elegance with a la carte menu.
