British Airways flights to Zurich touch down at Zurich Airport, seven and a half
miles north of Zurich city centre. After landing at Zurich Airport, take a Glattalbahn
tram (serving the East of the city), train or bus to the heart of Zurich's action.
Loosen up after your Zurich flight with an energetic stroll along Lake Zurich,
stopping to take photos of the snowy Swiss Alps in the background.
You'll soon find out what makes Zurich tick - from world-class art in the
medieval Altstadt (Old Town) to urban bars in trendy Zurich-West.
Travel to/from central Zurich
After your flight to Zurich Airport, the easiest way to reach central Zurich is to
hop on the train for the comfortable ten-minute ride to Zurich
Hauptbahnhof main train station. Or catch a bus from the terminal
behind the multi-storey car parks. You can pick up a metered taxi from
outside Flight Arrivals when your flights land in Zurich. The journey into central
Zurich takes roughly 20 minutes, but allow extra time to catch return flights from
Zurich Airport, especially during rush hour.
Best of Zurich
Stretch your legs after your Zurich flight with a stroll along petrol-blue Lake
Zurich, ducking into the little workshops and boutiques lining Zurich
Altstadt's maze of cobbled alleyways. Take in the spires of
Romanesque Grossmünster church and the view across Zurich's
red rooftops and Limmat River from the lime tree-fringed Lindenhof
terrace. Contemplate Monet originals in Kunsthaus Zurich or contemporary
masters at Kunsthalle Zurich, housed in an old brewery. Munch on Swiss
truffles or cream-filled local macaroons on your flight home from Zurich.
