Narita airport is located 38 miles from central Tokyo. You can hop on the Narita Express, which takes you to central Tokyo Station in 60 minutes. The Keisei Skyliner also travels to Ueno and Nippori in north-east Tokyo in 51 minutes.
A taxi might seem appealing after your flight, but Tokyo's cabs are costly, and the long trip into Tokyo from the airport is very expensive. Always check train and bus timetables before outbound flights from Tokyo as schedules can be irregular.
