British Airways flights to Munich land at Munich Airport, around 19 miles
north-east of Munich city centre. After your flight lands at Munich Airport, travel via
train or bus to Munich's centre, then take a leisurely stroll through the
wooded paths of the English Garden. Relax over dinner on the famous
Marienplatz square after your flight, or sip beers in Munich's
Altstadt (Old Town), home to medieval cathedrals.
Travel to/from central Munich
After your flight to Munich Airport, take the 40-minute train ride on the
S-Bahn to the Hauptbahnhof (Main Train Station) in central Munich. Opt
for the bus to Munich's city centre, which also takes 40 minutes.
Alternatively, you can go by taxi after your flights to Munich - the trip
takes up to half an hour depending upon Munich traffic. Plan to arrive at Munich
Airport in ample time prior to your return flight to allow for traffic.
Best of Munich
Following your Munich flights, stretch your legs in pedestrian-friendly central
Munich. Wander the serpentine streets of the Altstadt, or Old Town, and peek
inside the open doors of Munich's medieval cathedrals. Stop at streetside
cafes for a drink or leisurely meal and a spot of people-watching. After your Munich
flight, explore galleries of Old Masters in Munich's Alte Pinakothek
art museum, or admire the gleaming automobiles on display at the BMW Museum.
For your return flight from Munich, pack your suitcase with traditional Munich long
leather lederhosen shorts with braces, or with delicate Nymphenburg
Porcelain, handmade just a few miles outside Munich.
