British Airways has regular flights to Milan. Milan has two airports; flights mostly land
at Malpensa Airport, 28 miles north-west of central Milan, but there's also
largely domestic Linate Airport, four miles east of Milan. British Airways has
direct London flights from both Milan Malpensa and Milan Linate. Get the low-down on
design at the Palazzo d'Arte (Triennale) in Milan once your flight has landed.
Football fans can take the tour and visit the museum at Milan's San Siro
Stadium.
Travel to/from central Milan
Reaching Milan's city centre is easy after your Milan flight touches down.
Jump on a Malpensa Express train to reach central Milan around 40 minutes
after your flight. Or catch the shuttle bus to Milan's Central
Station. Buses run from Linate every ten minutes to Piazza San Babila square,
a short walk from Milan's Duomo, or half-hourly to Central Station.
Linate is just 15 minutes from Milan by taxi, while Malpensa to Milan takes
an hour after flights.
Best of Milan
Head for Milan's Duomo cathedral after your flight to Milan to
immerse yourself in Gothic architecture, then enjoy shopping in the glass-roofed
Galleria mall. Drop into the Sforza Castle and make a booking to
see Leonardo da Vinci's The Last Supper. In the evening, chill out
at a relaxed pavement restaurant by the canal in Milan's Navigli
quarter and stay on for drinks in Brera's lively bars. When
it's time to pack your bags for your return flights from Milan, squeeze in
little somethings from Prada and D&G or designer must-haves from
Milan's stylish homeware stores. Don't forget those antique
candles from Milan's flea market.
