Flights to Miami

Aerial view of Miami.

British Airways has frequent flights to Miami, landing at modern Miami International Airport, seven miles west of Downtown Miami. After your flight, catch a bus or taxi into central Miami and head for the sea to stretch your legs. Less than an hour after your Miami flight lands, you could be relaxing in Miami's South Beach, soaking up warm Atlantic sunshine and taking in the impressive Art Deco architecture.

Travel to/from central Miami

As soon as your flight to Miami has landed, hail a taxi outside Flight Arrivals to whizz into central Miami in 20 minutes, the simplest and quickest way into the city. Correct fares for your journey into Miami are posted inside the taxis and a 15% tip is expected. The public bus into Miami is slower, taking around 50 minutes, but it will save you money after your flight. You'll need to book the faster Supershuttle bus after your Miami flight, with journey time depending on hotel drop-offs.

Best of Miami

After your flight to Miami, head straight for Miami's sunny South Beach or, after dark, join the throng of Miami locals strolling along neon-lit Ocean Drive with its extravagant Art Deco hotels. Explore Miami's vibrant Little Havana district, which buzzes with Cuban restaurants and hot salsa beats. Immerse yourself in The Wolfsonian's vintage design collection and the fine-art exhibitions at Miami's Bass Museum of Art. For your homeward flight from Miami, make sure you've picked up Latino music, hand-rolled Cuban cigars and bright beachwear from Miami's trendy boutiques.
