Best of Marseille
After flights to Marseille, many people stare in awe at the huge Old Port,
guarded by waterfront fortresses. Explore Marseille's historic sights and
fine buildings. Join a ferry excursion to Château d'If, on
an isle just offshore, or relax on the beach, and sample traditional Marseille
bouillabaisse fish stew. Walk Marseille's arrow-straight central
avenue La Canebière, turning into side streets like Rue St
Férréol to find treats to take back with you on your
return flight from Marseille. Look in particular for fragrances, olive oil and
aniseed-flavoured pastis liqueur.
